Our New Life in the Country: I'm the Daddy
http://ournewlifeinthecountry.blogspot.com/2015/08/im-daddy.html
Recipes I Use Regularly. Live Below the Line 2015. Sunday, 2 August 2015. Caldwell, or to give his his full title Caldwell II, thinks he's the daddy . The daddy to these two little bundles of feather and fluff! Of course he's not, and biologically Mother Goose is not their Mum, but then parenting is just as confusing with chickens as it sometimes is with us humans :-). Been and it's lovely to see. He offers them tasty tit bits and sits by them if Mum has wandered off and temporarily abandoned them. It's ...

Recipes I Use Regularly. Live Below the Line 2015. Recipes I Use Regularly. Simply rub in the butter/margarine into the flour/salt until it looks like breadcrumbs and then stir in the sugar. Pour in enough milk/buttermilk or similar to make it into a reasonably firm dough and either roll out briefly or just pat into shape. Recipes I Use Regularly. Live Below the Line 2015. Monday, 31 August 2015. Kale for the Freezer. It was the turn of the Kale plants in the polytunnel to be stripped of almost. All of their leaves yesterday. Once again I set up my little production line of wash, drain, cook, drain, plunge into iced water, drain and then squeeze out as much excess water as possible. Once drained, and spun in the salad spinner I laid all the leaves on a clean tea towel and rolled it up tightly. I might have a go at some Kal...
