Number Three Walker (No Name). This is a two motor walker. The surplus "1/3 RPM" gearset is used, with CD Spindle Motors attached. Movie: Courtesy of Dennis Coleman. Of MPEG style, 1.37MB. Here you see the front view, without the circuit board or batteries attached. The rubber feet are for walking on carpet, works great! Left side view, with all attached. Turbot

Turbot ( TURn - roBOT ) - Flippers. This is the first one made. The "black tape" areas are batteries. Motors are Nihon mini-motors from www.BGMicro.com. It uses a 74HC14 PNC Microcore tied to a 74AC245 for the motor driver. It has PD's for the sensors, but only on the top. They can be seen on the larger pix,. Number Four Walker (Niho-Bug). This is a two motor walker. The surplus "Nihon Mini-Motors" are used. Pix #1, Click for larger pix. Gear Set: Labeled " 1/3 RPM. This is a completed "Gear Motor". You can see how long the output shaft is and that it is splined on the end. Additional holes are required to mount the two plates to each other as they are not attached at all. Spacers, 0.3 inch were used for this. In this picture, brass parts were used along with M2-12 screws and nuts. I cannot stop the shaft, even with only 3.8 volts on the motor! It rotates once in about 3 seconds, or so, depending on the motor used. Motor to first: 12-60.

Slider - Nihon Mini-Motor Style. Today this slider got a new controller, 12/19/2001. This controller is almost exactly the same as the one on the 16LF84 button above, with no IR sensor.
