July 4, 2015. In Antiques and Very Pretty Things. I would find it very satisfying to re-create famous works of art with chickens. Unfortunately, I am not very good at it. Perhaps with some more practice. For example:. The Gleaners by Jean Francois Millet, 1857. And, the Gleaners, my recreation:. Follow Blog via Email.

Finding a Writing Tribe | Laura Haugen

Finding a Writing Tribe. September 23, 2015. September 24, 2015. In my experience, joining a class, workshop or group with fellow writers is one of the best antidotes to a solitary writing life that can feel lonely at times. The feedback and support one receives from peers, not to mention the motivation to meet deadlines and keep working at revisions, is invaluable. Janis Cooke Newman’s recent article, “Everyone Needs a Writing Tribe,”. In Lithub covered all those advantages of a writing circle, and more.

Eggs in the Garden. 7 days in the incubator. So yesterday was officially the 7th day in the incubator which means checking their progress via candeling. I found a fab app called i-hatch. Which is just helping me out with knowing what to look for when candeling the eggs. It was really exciting to see the blood vessels and the embryo inside, unfortunately 2 have not developed at all but the other 4 are growing strong. May 3, 2015. Eggs in the Garden. Eggs in the Garden. Week one of keeping chickens. Wow, the things I have learnt in my first week of chicken keeping I would love to share but let me tell you the story of how we got out first 3 chickens. About 2 years ago my other half and I discussed how great it would be to keep chickens so we went out shopping for coops, runs and chickens. After many weeks of reading up and looking at what was on sale we eventually came across the perfect secondhand coop in the window of our local post office. I have ...

That evening we had the most amazing thunderstorm which for me was great but not so great for the goats first night away from home. No idea where...
