http://beangirls.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

I am mother to the bean children: Bean-girl, age seven, and her five-year old sister, the Legume. This is my space- both public and private- to vent, rant, muse, and reflect. Thursday, July 21, 2011. Do you remember when you were a kid and summer lasted forever? We sometimes complained that we were bored. Now I’m catching my breath from school graduation, getting used to the rhythms of packing lunches for day camp, and suddenly it’s time to think about back-to-school shopping. Do things s...Baby M, I wil...

http://beangirls.blogspot.com/2013/08/summer-and-letting-go.html

I am mother to the bean children: Bean-girl, age seven, and her five-year old sister, the Legume. This is my space- both public and private- to vent, rant, muse, and reflect. Monday, August 12, 2013. Summer and letting go. I blinked, and now I find the summer almost gone. I had ambitions plans, a lengthy to-do list. I would c. Lean out the home office, organize the kitchen pantry, clean out my closet, organize and print out a year’s worth of digital photos. I would. And I think we’ve tried out near...

I am mother to the bean children: Bean-girl, age seven, and her five-year old sister, the Legume. This is my space- both public and private- to vent, rant, muse, and reflect. Monday, April 15, 2013. Book review: The Zebra Said Shhh. Jack loses his backpack in every freaking book, and Annie is always walking up cheerfully to some dinosaur or saber-toothed tiger or whatever, confident that it's a friendly beastie that will enjoy a scratch behind its ears. She should have been eaten long ago). By the end of...

I am mother to the bean children: Bean-girl, age seven, and her five-year old sister, the Legume. This is my space- both public and private- to vent, rant, muse, and reflect. Wednesday, June 19, 2013. On leaving science: the stories we tell. Walking away from science is easier than I thought. Many spoke honestly of feelings of shame and failure when they left academia. They spoke of sleepless nights and wondering oh-my-god-what-am-I-doing? 60 applications and no offers? I have a friend who was in that ex...

I am mother to the bean children: Bean-girl, age seven, and her five-year old sister, the Legume. This is my space- both public and private- to vent, rant, muse, and reflect. Sunday, June 26, 2011. Work-life balance rant, and tribute to fathers. Oh, dear. I didn’t mean to get sucked into the perennial work-life balance meme. I really didn’t. There’s certainly been temptation of late. From excellent. And others, a crazy-ass op-ed piece. In the New York Times and the resulting blogosphere. And I haven&#821...

Scientia matris: When bugging your senior colleague is futile

http://scientiamatris.blogspot.com/2008/11/when-bugging-your-senior-colleague-is.html

Tuesday, November 25, 2008. When bugging your senior colleague is futile. Papers are a significant issue for me right now. Kids got in the way of steady output. That and writing 55 grants in four years, being the 'go-to' girl for all problems in my previous lab. The glue. No track record. UNfundable. So, I've been proactive and tried to implement a plan for publications with my old mentor. He agreed to a paper per week until they're all out (there's 15! But of course in the first week renegs.

A Canadian psychology grad student and mother of an almost 1 year-old blogs about school, work, babies, and anything else that catches her (limited) attention. Thursday, March 26, 2009. I started reading the comments to this story. And was thinking of commenting. After I got about half-way through I just gave up reading and didnt bother to comment - I dont have enough room in my life right now to get that stressed and cranky over things. Presented at the last AAS meeting shows that 60% of female astronomers suffer from impostor syndrome, the (unjustified) "fear of being exposed by colleagues for a lack of knowledge or ability". In comparison, 47% of male astronomers say they suffer from this. Since these fears could be a factor leading people away from astronomy, it may be one of the many things explaining why so few women make it all the way. So let's make a first baby step he...

Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Good-bye. . . Hello elsewhere. Everything has its season. Kedd, január 06, 2015. Kedd, október 21, 2014. BEANGO / FW14 / BLUE NOTE. The FW14 collection entitled BLUE NOTE is the serious, individualistic sound of the jazz world set in a burgundy velvet curtain club, which opens from a ruined street. The sound of an alternative saxophone slowly exits trough the keyhole, red wine glasses clink, a subdued tinkling giggle slowly absorbed by the overcast skies thunder. As if we were listening to a scratchy old gramophone at home. Vagy az alábbi webshopokon: TheGlow.
