It’s important to let the crumble stand unmolested for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the juices to thicken and congeal. If you serve it straight from the oven, it will fall apart. 1 cup AP flour. 2/3 cup brown sugar. 2/3 cup rolled oats. 1 stick butter, 1/2 cubes. 3 Bartlett pears, dice. 1 large fennel bulb, dice. 1 lemon, juiced and zested. 1 tbsp vanilla extract.

It will thicken quickly in five to ten minutes. And pour over toast.
