Hair Tips and Tricks. HOW TO WASH A LACE WIG. Learning how to properly care for your lace wig will allow you to enjoy the unit for much longer. Use a wide tooth comb to gently comb hair to free of any tangles. Saturate the hair with warm water in the sink. Apply a deep conditioner to the wig in the same manner the shampoo was applied and allow it to penetrate for 10 minutes, ensuring all strands are covered. Use cool water to rinse the conditioner. Make sure that all residue has been removed.
