SewYLD: Two Go Mad at Woolfest
http://sewyld.blogspot.com/2015/06/two-go-mad-at-woolfest.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. Two Go Mad at Woolfest. In the front row we have a braid of gradient dyed baby alpaca from Hilltop Cloud in colourway Crocus. I plan to spin this one up in a light weight for a shawl as well. Then there are two packs of broken merino tops in red/black/white, and the teal Falkland Merino, both of which came from John Arbon. Beautiful goodies. Enjoy playing with them this year! June 26, 2015 at 4:20 PM. I love the but, and the variegated in the bag looks fun! June 27, 2015 at 2:21 PM.

SewYLD: January 2015
http://sewyld.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 29, 2015. First HandSpun knitted item. Somewhat rustic in appearance, but its all my own work. This item started out life as a bag of fluff, and I spun it, washed it, and knitted it into this. So I'm a proud mama even if it isn't perfect. Perhaps BECAUSE its not perfect. The finished item is rather small, and quite thick. not very drapey and definitely an outdoor scarf not an indoor accessory but it seems to me that its still a statement of style. The other ball of yarn, which is more b...

SewYLD: Amy Butler Skirt
http://sewyld.blogspot.com/2015/06/amy-butler-skirt.html
Thursday, June 4, 2015. So pleased with this one. Its my old favourite pattern, Vogue 9959 made in a gorgeous Amy Butler Print that I bought last year. I have lined the skirt as well, in a blue a little paler than the background of the motif, and this gives it a better drape and makes it more comfortable to wear. June 4, 2015 at 1:26 PM. What a beautiful skirt. All that work on the pattern has really paid off. June 4, 2015 at 1:42 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow this blog with bloglovin.

SewYLD: Style Arc Cleo Dress
http://sewyld.blogspot.com/2015/06/style-arc-cleo-dress.html
Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Style Arc Cleo Dress. Well almost. This is Yorkshire Cleo. altered to account for draughts and cold weather. And I absolutely love it. Those who read regularly will know I cannot be trusted to leave patterns alone, though normally I do at least make it once the way its supposed to be before fiddling around with it. Not this time though. this time I went straight into modification mode. Construction order was just as normal for a top;. Sew the sleeves in flat. Turn up the hems on ...

SewYLD: November 2014
http://sewyld.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 9, 2014. I'm not sure whether the fur trim will get added or not. The Knitting and Stitching Show is coming up in a couple of weeks and last year there was a stall selling really fabulous faux fur in a huge variety of colours. If there is a fur that will go with the teal/green/turquoise of the coat, I will get some but if not, it will be fur-less. Other design changes, most of which were dictated by the fabric, are:. Body, patch pockets, turn back cuffs and all those cute little tabs on ...

SewYLD: April 2015
http://sewyld.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 24, 2015. Both the polo neck and the turtle neck are based on Burda World of Fashion 10/2006 No. 114. As with the recent ponte top, I used the higher neckline I'd drafted to make the top suitable to take a stand collar. All three tops work with some black denim with coloured stripes that is scheduled to be made up into jeans and a skirt in the very near future. As I'm currently knitting a cardigan to go with this fabric as well, I've got a nice little capsule in the making. The placket piec...

Cutting Table Raised | The Stitchery
https://thestitchery.wordpress.com/2013/10/07/cutting-table-raised
Skip to main content. Skip to secondary content. On the Cutting Table. Lost “It” and Beware Old Appliances →. October 7, 2013. In all my years of sewing I have never had a cutting table at a proper height for my 5’2.25″ frame. I now have a table set at 36″, right at my waist. I had to dance! Thanks, everyone, for all your suggestions for raising a cutting table! Our main concern was finding PVC with the proper interior measurements that would let it slip over the legs and not grip or be sloppy. We fo...

SewYLD: July 2015
http://sewyld.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. The Style Arc Cleo dress is my new favourite pattern. I'm quite obsessed with it and planning one in every colour. I altered the neckline though as I felt it was more open than I was comfortable with and I figured if I wanted one in every colour I may as well ring the changes with the necklines as well, particularly as not all fabrics would lend themselves to the favoured polo neck version. Stakes. Not that this will stop me from wearing it if the mood strikes. Two On Two Off.

SewYLD: September 2014
http://sewyld.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 17, 2014. This is Marfy 2415 but I added sleeves, to make it climate appropriate. The sleeves were from my self drafted top and this is the final version of a muslin I made in January or February this year. Some readers may recall the black top with very bright orange and pink stripes and only one sleeve set into it :). Never mind, its not toooo short. just sort of stops a bit shorter than designed. Its not cropped just not very generous in length. perfectly wearable....The only thin...

Vogue 1265- That Little Black “Party Dress” | Sew-To-Fit
https://idosewtofit.wordpress.com/2014/07/24/vogue-1265-that-little-black-party-dress
The greatest WordPress.com site in all the land! The Velveteen Rabbit…now realized. Review: McCall’s 6760- Romper Room →. Vogue 1265- That Little Black Party Dress. There is that one dress that I would wear for any event, and maybe just to feel good. I have now moved it to the front of my wardrobe. I wore it for my 50th birthday party, a masquerade bash my daughter and sister master-minded while I was out of town on a Palmer-Pletsch Training in Portland, Oregon (more on that in another post). I would say...
