Jacobson Family in Fairbanks Alaska. Friday, January 18, 2008. Week of True Winter. This past week was the icon of winter in Alaska. Monday we started out at -40 which puts a heck of a chill in the air. Thursday I woke up to a foot of extra snow that accumulated over the night. Instead of running I went snow shoeing which was more of a workout. With all this powder, skiing, tubing, and/or snow machining may be on for the weekend. -B. Posted by BECK in Alaska. Jacobson Family in Fairbanks Alaska. Monday, November 26, 2007. Driving South to the North Pole. Tis the season and so the wife and kids went to Santa's House at the North Pole. Unfortunately he was not home but they did get to see some Reindeer and the big guy's sleigh. There is the begginings of a Ice Park and one of the first pieces is a Ice sculpture of a Turkey. The river was thawing and in some areas you could see that there is grass beneath that fluffy white stuff. Kelly even took down some of the lights. Saturday, November 19, 2011. New Thing 11-19-11 Inner Harbor Light Show. So I am friends with "Baltimore" on facebook and "Baltimore" informed me the Inner Harbor was having a light show 4 times a night from 11-19-11 until 12-31-11. After sharing this with my other facebook friends, Melissa (my wonderful co-worker) and her fiance Allan decided to join in my "new thing" fun! We decided to go to Lenny's in the Harbor before checking out the show. Awesome corned beef sandwhich! It only last 5 to 10 minutes.
