Karne's korner: life in the garden. Friday, May 6, 2011. Working in the garden. And something else. The living water? Pulling weeds I thought of this "There is order in all things" and I thought it must be our job to find it. I mean left to themselves the weeds would wreak havoc, where now they are tortoise food! They never even imagined they were putting all that energy into growing up so I could pull them out for tortoise food. I do know this. There is hardly a nicer way to start a day. Boehner Says Mo...

Karne's korner: life in the garden. Sunday, July 15, 2012. Road trip part 2. Home again, Home again. . . After spending five and a half days at Donner Lake, relaxing in the tall pines, exploring and hiking a little, we were faced with the fact that somehow we had to make it home again. (Before starting for home though, I must say that Donner Lake had one of the best 4th of July celebrations I remember in a long time. Everyone at the Lake is an obvious patriot! Glad to be home! karne's korner: life in the garden: November 2011

Karne's korner: life in the garden. Thursday, November 3, 2011. Deja Vu all over again. But they had three dogs: 2 pit bulls and an old, much loved shaggy little dog. I am not a dog person generally. We were going to move the younger boys into one room, but I did not want dogs in the house. I thought it was reasonable for big dogs to be outside dogs, they disagreed. We compromised (? This was in Arizona in late summer. Now a younger son has moved home with his fiance and 11 month old baby. No dogs. Prett...

karne's korner: life in the garden: April 2011
http://karneskorner.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Karne's korner: life in the garden. Monday, April 18, 2011. OK I've listened to the news. But outside the sun is shining, corn shoots are poking through the soil, broccoli is getting bigger on every broccoli plant, onions are in bloom- yes I let them go too long again! And the melons, squash, cucumbers, etc are showing their little sets of leaves. Grapes clusters are forming, peaches and nectarines are there in their infancy. . . Hope is in the air, at least in the back yard. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Karne's korner: life in the garden. Thursday, September 6, 2012. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27, 2012. How quickly they grow. I watch my eighteen month old granddaughter walk out to the garage, wait while I fill a little bucket with dog food, take it in her two hands, turn and carry it through the house and out the back door. She doesn't spill; she walks with assurance. Two months ago she couldn't reach doorknobs; now she opens doors. She wants to be independent adamantly. In bounds the wide-awake sneaky one! So we ...

karne's korner: life in the garden: March 2011
http://karneskorner.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Karne's korner: life in the garden. Tuesday, March 8, 2011. The scriptures are very clear. There are two types of treasure. The treasures of the earth are controlled by Satan and include money- mammon, gold, silver- and power. But the treasures of heaven are a different sort. The treasures of heaven include Knowledge, family and posterity, snow, clean water, sunshine, golden grain, fertile fields, health, etc. How lucky am I? And sunshine is free! Aren't you valuing, believing in, putting your faith and ...

Karne's korner: life in the garden. Tuesday, July 3, 2012. Brrr I had forgotten how cool it gets in the evenings in the sierra. Heck, Coming from Arizona via Vegas I had forgotten that it cools down at night anywhere! Well not really, but I will definitely have to find a hoody on sale that says Lake Tahoe, or Donner Lake or even Truckee. We check into our cabin today! We will be here until Saturday. Then the trick will be to figure out how to get home. I don't think I can face I-95 again! I live on a sky...

Karne's korner: life in the garden. Saturday, June 18, 2011. In 587 Bc the great city of Jerusalem was destroyed and its inhabitants carried off. The people had been forewarned by Jeremiah and other prophets who for 40 years prior to the fall of this great city had preached repentance to no avail. What was it that Judah was doing that brought about the destruction of the city? Religious insincerity, dishonesty, adultery, injustice, tyranny against the helpless, and slander?
