Adventures Abroad: Where have we been?
http://kirchnersinasia.blogspot.com/2017/01/where-have-we-been.html
Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Where have we been? It's been all quiet on the blogging front these days. Apparently working full time and being pregnant with twins leaves little time for web reflections and musings. Much of the first term back at work was a blur - doctor's appointments, work, taking care of Mads, softball, and Ryan's master's course. We did manage to squeeze in a trip to Thailand over October Break. Here are some highlights:. Mads is getting more confident in the pool. This is a happy girl!

Adventures Abroad: October 2016

Saturday, October 1, 2016. America Was Great Again! After a fabulous 3 weeks in London, we headed to England's spawn, America. First stop? Our nation's capital (ish). We stayed for a week at Joanne and Amir's beautiful home in Bethesda, MD, just outside of Washington, DC. We've been to the area several times, so we felt no need to re-do the tourist sites with a two-year-old in tow. Instead, we spent most of our days by the pool with the kids, and Ryan proved that he was uncle extraordinaire:. As a birthd...

Sunday, April 26, 2015. Madeline - Month 9. For more details, scroll to the end of the blog post. Ryan only allows the Giants t-shirt because. She's such a wonderful grandmother. We said hello to Grandpa Mike, Grandma Renee and Aunt Vanessa. It was so nice to have more family around. We took some short trips to the Peak, Stanley market, and Kowloon Park, but as usual the best part was just hanging out playing cards and working on a puzzle! Chillin' with Grandpa Mike. Kisses from Aunt Vanessa. This is Mad...

Adventures Abroad: May 2015
http://kirchnersinasia.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 22, 2015. Madeline is 10 Months Old! Madeline has graduated from worming across the room to full on crawling! Well, most of the time. Every once in a while she regresses, collapsing onto her chest and slithering. She enjoys crawling through Daddy's homemade blanket tunnels, getting into the umbrella basket, and using her baby-dar to locate any and all paper products in the room so she can eat them. May was a special month because it was my first Mother's Day! 3 generations on Mother's Day!

Adventures Abroad: August 2015
http://kirchnersinasia.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 14, 2015. We had a wonderful summer, but Madeline left out some details. What else did we get up to? Well, before we left for the US we had a family photo shoot. And by family I mean mother-daughter. Since this is Hong Kong, the photography studio was sooooo busy, but we had to spend our Groupon before it expired. Unfortunately, Ryan had to attend a work event on the only day we could get into the studio, so here are some mother-daughter and only-daughter shots:. Seeing family and friends.

Monday, March 23, 2015. Madeline is 8 Months Old! Once again Madeline has a visitor! Abuela is now in Hong Kong for the second time since Mads was born. Let me try to count the times my mom has come to see me since I've been abroad: pause.pause.awkward pause.oh, it's zero. Now that we have a baby I can't keep her away! You'll notice Madeline's socks all askew. They are and. Have always been impossible to keep on her feet! Mads loves her Abuela. Madeline had her first swim lesson last week! I'm hoping bro...

Friday, February 27, 2015. Madeline - Month 7. Madeline's hair has taken on a life of its own. It's now long enough to style (or not! Our helper, Janeth, is the top stylist at Salon De Mads but Daddy also has a hand in it. Can you guess which 'dos are Ryan's? For the record Ryan is not Chinese. And I don't think there was an IVF mix-up (more on that later). However, my great grandfather was Chinese - from Hong Kong no less, a fact I recently learned! Show people, and coincidentally the one that many.

Friday, February 12, 2016. Baby, it's cold outside! We had a real winter in Hong Kong this year. Temperatures dropped down to 6 degrees Celsius! I know, I have no idea what that means either. Google tells me it's about 43 degrees Fahrenheit. Brrrrr! I spent numerous summer days sitting by the heater bundled up in a coat. In fact, one day my friend Joanne said that all she remembered of our childhood in SF was being very cold. She never wanted to wear socks in the house,. Madeline will be starting at a pl...

Adventures Abroad: December 2015
http://kirchnersinasia.blogspot.com/2015_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 4, 2015. The last three weeks have been heaven sent! We had a little visit from Grandma Foxy, or "Gamma" in Madeline-speak. All of our Skype dates with family have not been in vain. When Abuela walked through the door, Madeline yelled, "Gamma! And ran into her arms. This was taken right after Gamma walked through the door. I'd say they were happy to be reunited! Gamma also brought with her a suitcase full of gifts, mostly for Mads. Here are some of her treasures:. Madeline is talking up ...
