Nathanael's blogosphere of photos. Saturday, July 31, 2010. As a measure to stop the Taliban from smuggling goods through the city, we set up a traffic control point a couple of nights ago to help deter (and possibly detain) some of these guys. Here are some photos of our guys in action. I did a little bit of vehicle and people searching as well. I love this photo, he looks so dejected:. It started getting dark on us, so we set up our NVGs and made sure we had our IR chem lights activated as well. Ca...

prayers from a mommy's heart: What does it feel like to die?
http://emilybugg.blogspot.com/2011/04/what-does-it-feel-like-to-die.html
Thursday, April 14, 2011. What does it feel like to die? As Austin and I drove home from school today, I asked him about his day. We talked briefly about his friends, the playground, the sand in his shoes, and the spring program scheduled for this evening. After some quiet moments, Austin asked me a question. "Mom." He said, "What does it feel like to die? What does it feel like to die? Austin sat quietly in the backseat for a long time. I wondered if I had said too much. You are so scared. Do you think ...

prayers from a mommy's heart: January 2011
http://emilybugg.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 4, 2011. Today was our 20 week ob appointment, and we found out that we are having another boy! We are beyond thrilled (although I might have secretly had hopes for hair bows and smocked dresses). Once we heard the news, however (and saw that precious baby on the screen), there was absolutely no disappointment. A BOY! A BROTHER FOR AUSTIN! It is a BOY! That sounds just about right, sweet boy. Just about right. I have so many thoughts about having another son! I love my relationship with ...

prayers from a mommy's heart: October 2010
http://emilybugg.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 30, 2010. My sweet Avery Grace! I need longer weekends! My blog posts are inversely related to the number of hours that I work! Last year, when I took some time off from teaching, I blogged almost every day. Right now, I am doing well if I blog every three weeks! I couldn't wait three weeks for this post, however, because I am already two days late in posting a special wish to my beautiful one year old niece, Avery! It is so important to me that my nieces and nephew(s? We waited and wai...

prayers from a mommy's heart: September 2011
http://emilybugg.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 16, 2011. I promise to write more of Anderson's story soon! I wasn't trying to create a cliff hanger, I honestly just didn't want anyone to get bored reading the whole story in one sitting :). I have not written any more this week, however, because my house is a train wreck. And since I have a personal rule that blogging will never take away from my time playing with these guys, I have been busy. More of Anderson's story coming soon. Until then, please continue to read my dad's blog.

prayers from a mommy's heart: to LIVE...
http://emilybugg.blogspot.com/2011/02/to-live.html
Monday, February 7, 2011. In January, many of my friends (and fellow bloggers) chose a word to live by in 2011. A word that they wanted to strive for, to uphold, to motivate them throughout the upcoming year. I never wrote about it, but I chose a word as well: LIVE. I want to LIVE in 2011. As my dad's illness continues to progress, I struggle with the realization that life is truly but a breath. I don't want to take a single moment for granted and I want to enjoy life. I want to live in 2011. Musings of ...

http://emilybugg.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 28, 2010. This is my family! This picture was taken yesterday on my 33rd birthday, and I think that it is my new favorite family picture! It is low key. it is sincere.James' starbucks is sitting on the side. We are taking things easy right now and just enjoying the simplest pleasures in life. I must admit that I also needed to sit after spending two days in bed from a vicious stomach bug). I woke up on Thanksgiving morning (early at 3 am! 2 notes from friends. Monday, November 8, 2010.
