As the Crow flies. Tuesday, January 30, 2007. After a very enjoyable couple of days back in Udaipur, on a tip from mum and dad we headed to Bundi. We decided we really didn't fancy going back to Jaipur and could get a train from Bundi to Agra which was our next planned destination. Thanks heavens for Frenchies advising use of pointy sticks - decades of Sir David-watching leads me to believe these apparently placid monkies could have turned vicious at any moment! In shameless tourist fashion and with great enjoyment we were snap happy at the Taj Mahal. It is as amazing as they say, you shouldn't miss it out, we didn't. Its a bit wierd but walking 14km seems a heck of a lot harder than running it as i did on the city to surf in sydney. i am definitely worse off now than i was then! So its a day of rest in nelson before pushing on through the pain barrier tomorrow for another couple of days of tramping on the abel tasman coastal track (yes helen, i have taken your top tip on board! The freedom to run down steep slopes, explore, climb, and stand in awe. The richness of colours changing with the sun - bright blue sky and glittering deep orange sand. The soft yet strong wind billowing around me, making sand dance in circles. The pretty yellow flowers growing despite such heat. The endless space containing so much.
