Steppenwolf Theatre – becky sarwate
https://beckysarwate.com/tag/steppenwolf-theatre
Personal, Political, Theatric, Rabid Sports Fan, Educator. December 15, 2016. December 15, 2016. Tom Irwin stars as Pastor Paul. K Todd Freeman, Steppenwolf ensemble member and Director of “The Christians,”. The work can be appreciated agnostically, though it is clear from auditing the Book of Job-esque cautionary tale of a righteously compromised man, that Hnath has read his Bible. And under the direction of Freeman, a Deacon’s son, a tortured, and at times wistful portrait of theology and fel...Pastor ...

Ryan Spahn (Dean), Jennifer Kim (Kendra), and Catherine Combs (Ani) in ‘Gloria’. During the whip-smart first half of “Gloria,”. Directed by Evan Cabnet, who also helmed Goodman’s funny, disquieting and resonant 2013 production, “Teddy Ferrara,” this iteration of “Gloria” benefits from the original cast of the off-Broadway mounting. ...Press materials accessibly desc...

Personal, Political, Theatric, Rabid Sports Fan, Educator. The Phantom of the Opera. December 19, 2016. December 19, 2016. Cameron Mackintosh’s stunning new touring production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Broadway smash “The Phantom of the Opera”. Is almost perversely difficult to describe with words alone. Performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, this reinvention of a timeless classic is large in more ways than one. The journey to redemption is a breathtaking one. Webber’s original score is just a...Derrick...

Personal, Political, Theatric, Rabid Sports Fan, Educator. November 27, 2016. Armando Riesco (Lorenzo) and ensemble members Alan Wilder (Abe) and Alana Arenas (Millie). As we exited Steppenwolf’s Upstairs Theatre after Tuesday night’s press opening of “The Fundamentals,”. Case in point (with minimal spoilers): the trusting and friendly relationship between Millie and her longtime supervisor Abe is incomprehensibly degraded beyond recognition. Abe is far from a roadblock to Millie’s success and ...Rather ...

A face for hats. Newer posts →. I see him in you sometimes. He lives in yours eyes,. Behind your brow,. And in the bridge of your nose where it crinkles when you grin. He comes with joy. I’m not one to complain about the weather. Why would I? What difference would it make? It’s like when you ask someoneusually an older someone…and often a male someonehow he’s doing. Sometimes he’ll answer, Can’t complain. , and a voice inside my head adds, And it wouldn’t do any good if you did. My flowers are drowning.

Unintended Consequences « a face for hats

A face for hats. I don’t make resolutions. A resolution is a promise in a business suit and, as the saying goes; promises are made to be broken. I do, however, set intentions. It’s not a formal thing. I don’t write anything down, light candles, chant, or tell people. My intentions usually arise from something I feel strongly about, or some kind of character issue I want to change. That’s right Bang Bang . It showed in my professionally manicured nails, in my new haircut, and in my face. My step was q...

A face for hats. But I didn’t. I didn’t make that trip. Truth be told, the idea never became much more than thatsomething I thought about now and thena musing atop a pile of reverie in a corner of my brain that never gets enough light to grow anything. No Cliff’s Notes for this girl! I don’t know if it’s because of, or in spite of, the fact that I actually had to read those torture devices of semi-modern literature, but I remember quite a lot about all three of those books. If only I Know Why The Cag...

A face for hats. Mr Lucky died. I found out he died the same way I learned he was alive, in a post on Facebook between a political rant and a photo of last night’s dinner. Just yesterday I saw a photo of him and his adopted brother, Mr. Max. They were sleeping the way small animals and children do, in a mix of limbs forming a pile of sweetness. I’m not a cat person, but I’ve lived with cats. As a kid, we always had cats. My mother loved cats. Her favorite was named Cleo. She called her Cl...Many years ag...

Addicted to the Idiot Box
Addicted to the Idiot Box. Tuesday, March 23, 2010. CT, A week in the life of a television writer. In last weeks online only issue of the Campus Times I took a slightly different turn from my usual reviews and instead wrote a "what I did on my spring break" style story. And what I did on my spring break was frakking awesome. Hint #1: My cousin that I stayed with works in television. Hint #2: The above picture is from the set of "CSI.". Read my article to hear more! To read my column online. Since writing...

Bed and Breakfast in Lussac| Accommodation in Haute Vienne, France|Beckys B&B
It is an English speaking guesthouse with a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Ours is not like your standard guesthouse in England where the landlady wants you out of the house for the day after breakfast, if you want to sit in the garden or the lounge with a book and a cup of coffee or a glass or wine, feel free. We have two bicycles for the more energetic and there is plenty of walking in the area. We regularly see otters near the lakes when we are walking our dogs. Website by Grant Melia.
