Tuesday, November 22, 2005. 2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into 1" cubes. 2 med onions, chopped. 2 Tb vegetable oil. 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained (origianl recipe calls for pinto beans but, ewww! 1 can (14-1/2 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained. 2 cans (4 oz each) chopped green chilies. 3 beef bouillon cubes. 1 garlic clove, minced. Shredded cheddar cheese, optional. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until beef is tender. Sprinkle with cheese if desired. YIELD: 8 servings. 1 1/2 c. milk.

Tuesday, 26 April 2011. La Solana, Pedreguer, Spain. This week I'm in Spain! Today we got up early and ate breakfast quickly because we decided to climb the mountain opposite our villa in search of the goats we see each morning. They seem to disappear for the rest of the day! As soon as me and my family were ready, we drove to the bottom of the mountain. We parked the car and then started the long climb up La Solana (the mountain) in the heat of the midday sun. There was no sign of any goats though!
