Apples of Gold: January 2015
http://jessicalg97.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
25 January, 2015. Faith Like Potatoes - Book Review. After reading Faith Like Potatoes. I was surprised at how much of a bestseller it is; because I wouldn't call the writing amazing or well set out. But the story itself, and the answers to prayer it chronicles, along with the descriptions of trials and heartaches we can all relate to, made this book real. So, have you read (or seen) Faith Like Potatoes. How did it inspire you? 18 January, 2015. Recently I've been thinking about finding beauty in the ord...

http://havingaheartlikehis.blogspot.com/2016_09_01_archive.html
Sep 30, 2016. What a month. September was full of ups and downs, busyness and school, smiles and tears. However, I can say that I learned so much this month. ♥. Looking back, it might seem that we didn't do anything. but school. School has to count for something though. That was my September life. school, school, school. But it's fall! Precious Kalem went to be in Jesus' arms forever. ♥. A lot of birthdays. =). Fall weather is here! I survived school for another month! What a way to end summer! All the b...

Apples of Gold: April 2015
http://jessicalg97.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
22 April, 2015. Chatterbox Linkup - A Short Story. Several times now I've come across the monthly chatterbox link-up on Rachel Heffington's blog. For April though, I decided I wanted to participate and so set to work on this month's theme: travel-by-foot. I got a little involved in the characters and conversations though, so it's more like a short story rather than a 'quick dialogue exercise.'. And if you have some constructive criticism, please share! 8220;It's a bit dark to-night isn't it ma'am? If the...

Apples of Gold: August 2014
http://jessicalg97.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
18 August, 2014. The Hiding Place - Corrie ten Boom. A couple of months ago now, I had to read. The Hiding Place for school. I'd heard it was a really good book for ages, but after reading it, I can definitely agree! It's a really good book. Lets just say that I was very interested in schoolwork for those few days. :) Anyway, after reading it, I had to write an essay on what effect growing up in a christian home had on Corrie ten Boom, so here it is! Have you ever read. What did you think? 17 August, 2014.

Apples of Gold: February 2015

25 February, 2015. Just Write - Winter Nights. The other day I was browsing, and I came across this: Just Write. The main idea, unfathomably enough, is to. Anyway, here's what came out:. You know sometimes there are nights that feel distinctly wintery? With a howling wind bringing cold weather from the east, and sneaking draughts through cracks in the doors? And then there are summer nights. What's the difference? It was kind of freeing to just write, and not be writing for a specific purpose, or trying ...

Apples of Gold: July 2014
http://jessicalg97.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
04 July, 2014. I went outside yesterday and took these photos. It has been really windy, cold and wet this for the last week, so everyone was literally excited when the sun shone for a whole day yesterday! I didn't know jonquils flowered at this time of year, but then i don't really know anything about gardening anyway. All I know is that these are flowers, they are pretty, and I wanted to take photos of them, so I did. And if we try to influence or elevate others, we shall soon see that success is in pr...

Apples of Gold: June 2014
http://jessicalg97.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
29 June, 2014. Are You a Disciple? A few weeks ago in our opening Sabbath worship we read the following paragraphs:. Have you ever noticed what followers of Jesus were called in the book of Acts? Is used thirty-one times in Acts. Charting a Course in Your Youth by Gary Miller, page 73. 8220;These people are turning. The world upside down! 8221; protested the authorities of the day. What was so different about Christianity? But there is something else about those early disciples we would be wise to take n...

02 May, 2014. A Skirt. Made by Me! Well, you wouldn't believe this, but I actually sewed again! I mean, I actually sewed something, and it worked! O I'm good at sewing things, like a ridiculous green skirt that was supposed to fit my sister, and it turns out that it fits neither of us. So it lies unfinished. Or a polka dot shirt that was too big on the shoulders, that I'm too lazy to fix and finish. So it lies unfinished. Or a. But this time. I was quite determined to make something, and finish it. Encou...

Apples of Gold: June 2015

24 June, 2015. It's like this: on the whole, life can look kind of dull, matte, boring, and so plain. But when we zoom in, it expands, and surprises us. Here are some of the (small) surprises taking my attention right now:. I unexpectedly got an A in my violin exam. Yes, I feel like I can say this without bragging because truly, it was a surprise. Praise God, because He did it, not me! Seriously though, I completely messed some sections up.). Having something to look forward to: the Eastward Music Camp.
