Racking Our Wine | Brewsconsin
https://brewsconsin.wordpress.com/2015/01/03/racking-our-wine
Big Beard's Brew Blog. January 3, 2015. Today we racked our wine that we picked grapes for on September 27th. We got what was left at the vineyard which turned out to be a mix of Prairie Star and Delaware grapes. The specific gravity has dropped to a .996 but the wine still has a bit of tartness. We added 2.5 campden tablets and 4 ounces of lightly toasted oak chips. In a month we will have to see how it tastes and then decide if it needs any sweetening. This entry was posted in Brewing. Focus On The Beer.

The Thirsty Brewmaster: Brewing a Wheat Beer using Rice Hulls
http://www.thirstybrewmaster.net/2014/06/brewing-wheat-beer-using-rice-hulls.html
Sunday, June 8, 2014. Brewing a Wheat Beer using Rice Hulls. The rice hulls in the 5 gallon bucket can keep. The mash from becoming stuck. At Randy's, we use a grant to vorlauf the wort. After the "mash in" there is a process called vorlauf which takes the smaller particulates from the bottom of the grain bed, and deposits them on top. This creates a natural filter keeping a large portion of smaller particulates out of the brew kettle. Written by Raimondo Albarelli. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
