Beer, Guns, and Baseball: April 2012
http://teconom.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Beer, Guns, and Baseball. Austrian economics, beer tasting, current topics, guest posting, and Dodgers baseball. Wednesday, April 4, 2012. The Sun King to the Lizard King. Yes, this is an interesting history lesson, but what is the relevance? This potency model of organization is today best exemplified through the state apparatus. Ask a random person on the street today who is in charge of the economy, the answer is the state. Who is in charge of health care? How did this happen? The last bulwark of prot...

Rob's Beer Quest: July 2014
http://robsbeerquest.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
One man's quest into the diversity and wonder of beer and the brewing industry. Wednesday, 2 July 2014. As is often found in blogging, many weeks or even months can go by without anything interesting to blog about. Then somehow multiple events can come along at once without sufficient time gaps between them to rapid fire out the blog posts. Last week was one memorable week. Thirty years old and partying harder than I did at 21. Here's the highlights. Wednsday night Apollo 40 presentation. I turned thirty...

Rob's Beer Quest: October 2014
http://robsbeerquest.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
One man's quest into the diversity and wonder of beer and the brewing industry. Saturday, 4 October 2014. The wall of yeast thing. Now I have nothing against wheat beer, that's where lots of yeast is a good thing. But it seems in this modern age many 'craft' beer fans have a perception that if their pale ale/IPA has the appearance of carbonated pond water the beer is somehow in the crème de la crème. Of freshness and condition. What I'm wondering is how they did it? Haze on it. Nobody seemed to care ...

Rob's Beer Quest: March 2015
http://robsbeerquest.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
One man's quest into the diversity and wonder of beer and the brewing industry. Sunday, 15 March 2015. Beer and food: The verdict/the truth. I have blogged a fair bit over the years on various beer and food pairings. Much inspiration has been taken from the signature books written by the great masters of beer and food; Garret Oliver, Mark Dredge and to some extent Melissa Cole. However reading Ed's post. Meet Mordue IPA with a roast beef, mustard and tomato sandwich served with cheesy puffs. Well no....

Rob's Beer Quest: June 2015
http://robsbeerquest.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
One man's quest into the diversity and wonder of beer and the brewing industry. Tuesday, 16 June 2015. The annual hop contract again. The opening in the forest was large, with a central island of refuge guarded by two men. Boxes upon boxes of hops towered behind these two crafty types sporting beards and tattoos. No one could remember what brewery they were from it was another new one. Piles of empty casks were stacked like sand bag walls here and there. "What can you see? Now GO GO GO! What do you think?

Rob's Beer Quest: June 2014
http://robsbeerquest.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
One man's quest into the diversity and wonder of beer and the brewing industry. Tuesday, 24 June 2014. Here's an event we had to go back to. Northumberland Beer Festival is based in Longframlington Memorial Hall and run by the Coquetdale Round Table. Last year the festival opened its doors for the first time as a small affair driven by community spirit. This year it seemed the aim was to raise the game and double the beer range. Surprised as an impressive display of contemporary brewing. Soft-bodied ...

Rob's Beer Quest: December 2014
http://robsbeerquest.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
One man's quest into the diversity and wonder of beer and the brewing industry. Tuesday, 30 December 2014. The eleventh Geordie beer of Christmas. Camerons Brewery Festive Frolics. Now then, an important point to make with this entry is that it's not all about virtuoso craft kids in sheds lobbing kilos of hops, orange peel, fruit or whatever else into the mix. As you may have guessed, the Hartlepool-based Camerons brewery is huge (the 11th biggest in the UK) with its own pub estate. Links to this post.

Rob's Beer Quest: July 2015
http://robsbeerquest.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
One man's quest into the diversity and wonder of beer and the brewing industry. Saturday, 4 July 2015. Northumberland beer fest again. The Northumberland Beer Festival is becoming an annual highlight of mine. Based in Longframlington memorial hall, this year it pulled the same cards as previous years plus more including pies, nuts and fairly well-chosen range of local beers. This time we weren't with the kids either. Fitting; Acton beer on an Acton beer mat. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Rob's Beer Quest: January 2015
http://robsbeerquest.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
One man's quest into the diversity and wonder of beer and the brewing industry. Friday, 30 January 2015. First up, from Adnams more experimental arm. Jack Brand Dry Hopped Lager. The crispness of a pale lager with tangerine and tropical notes. Overall quite pleasant. Next up, from Roosters new canned range, Fort Smith. January also brought some IPAs, my favourites were both the most balanced. Siren Soundwave. Was resiny, smooth and all tropical and citrus. Lagunitas IPA. And Tiny Rebel Hadouken. Bigging ...

One man's quest into the diversity and wonder of beer and the brewing industry. Friday, 1 May 2015. Shot down in flames.
