Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Update 2 - Low Tech Helles. Helles brew day went into the books on Sunday past. Full krausen within 36hrs. Temperature holding steady at 12c/53.6F. Starting to get the egg/sulfur smell :). Posted by Low Tech Brewer. Thursday, November 22, 2012. Update - Low Tech Helles. I checked the gravity of the decanted spent beer, it had in fact fermented out to 1.008 (75% attenuated) which is bang on for WLP833. Tonight I crush my grain and prepare for tomorrow evenings brew-night!

GCHC 2014 Competition Results. This year’s GCHC Competition had one the highest number of entries in nearly 10 years. In all, 52 brewers (individuals and brewing teams) entered 227 entries representing a broad sampling of all BJCP major categories. The beers were judged over two days by 18 judges. In total, 67 awards are presented in 22 categories plus Best of Show. With these numbers, and the overall high quality of entries, the competition was tough! Beer Grains Supply Company.
