Monday, November 23, 2009. If there ever was a time for giving Thanks- it is now. I am thankful I have a job, that my family is happy and secure and healthy, that there have been no major issues at work, but most of all right now, I am thankful for this holiday break! It has given me time to sit back and reflect on all that I have done to fulfill my career goals. It has given me time to get things completed and given me a breather! I remember as a child getting lost in books all the time. We were poor and didn't get to travel. I never went further than an hour away from my house until I was 18. Wednesday, December 9, 2009. The football players came to my room to read to my students. The kids enjoyed this, but I think my boys liked it even more that the cheerleaders sat by them! Friday, November 13, 2009. I had to include this book because my son read it. As many of you know when he started Portland Elementary he could not read or write. This was in the 2nd grade.
