~~~ finding joy in the little things ~~~: what I learned from the road crew. and another quilt
http://pursuingjoy.blogspot.com/2014/03/what-i-learned-from-road-crew-and.html
Wednesday, March 19, 2014. What I learned from the road crew. and another quilt. For over a year now,. There has been practically around-the-clock road work on I-540. For the most part, I avoid the interstate when possible. But I've learned a valuable lesson. When I do take that route. Work is every bit as important. As the 'real' work. And often takes more time.). Many moons ago,. Before Claire was even engaged,. Her mom asked me if I'd help make a quilt. I responded like Peter. I didn't really say that.
~~~ finding joy in the little things ~~~: a quilt for Claire
http://pursuingjoy.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-quilt-for-claire.html
Wednesday, August 12, 2015. A quilt for Claire. This (queen size) quilt's journey has been a long one. These colors are far more accurate than the previous photo's. Before Chris and Claire were even engaged,. Lynnet asked if I would help her make Claire a quilt. We decided that the three of us would work on it together,. While we made the quilt. By the time we actually got started on the making. They were not only engaged,. But we were barreling towards a May 24th wedding. Until it was finished. Then pra...

~~~ finding joy in the little things ~~~: progress and loss
http://pursuingjoy.blogspot.com/2015/07/progress-and-loss.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Once I finished Simply Luscious. Which turned out so. You'd have thought my One Block Wonder would come along quickly. But you would be wrong. Underestimated how much time it would take. To turn my nicely pressed rows. Into a quilt top. Or at least the center of one.). All that matching of points and pinning. I was slower than a couple of my boys. When it's time to clean. Sorry; that's the slowest thing I could think of. Just doesn't adequately describe my speed. And set to work.
~~~ finding joy in the little things ~~~: weird much?
http://pursuingjoy.blogspot.com/2015/07/weird-much.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. I don't go around thinking about how weird we are;. But every once in a while,. I catch a little glimpse. I don't really think is weird at all. But the fact that my girls were intrigued by the flour packaging,. Because they don't recall ever seeing it before). When we were scenting the playdough. Okay, that may be just a little. Lexi asked if she could use Eucalyptus. Instead of any of the essential oil options already on the table. When I told her to go grab it from the bathroom,.

Friday, May 29, 2015. The last of the bags. I finished the last of the graduation 'money holders'. Gal's mom told me she liked pink, pale aqua and gold. I fretted a good bit over fabric choices,. Thinking I really didn't have anything just. And almost ordered fabric. Then I reminded myself,. These are just supposed to be simple. To take the place of a greeting card. They aren't the entire gift. It would have not been a bit prudent of me to order fabric. I want the young lady to like it. I never do that.

~~~ finding joy in the little things ~~~: stitchin' up a storm
http://pursuingjoy.blogspot.com/2015/06/stitchin-up-storm.html
Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Stitchin up a storm. This isn't news to the observant,. I gave it away in this post. But - I've been hand quilting for the past week. I wasn't going to. I'm not normally a wishy-washy person,. It just wants what it wants. The quilt was right;. It's far too luscious. To quickly FMQ and be done with it. This is a pleasure project. That said, though,. I think I may FMQ the (remaining octagon of the ) stars blocks. I said I wasn't seeing mixed quilting in this one. In the past week,.
Sunday, May 17, 2015. I've been on a long losing streak.). And Tyler says, "Is your body hurting? After doing a quick assessment of all major muscles and joints. Because you seem like a sore loser". He admitted he was just a little bit nervous about that one -. I'd either think it was hilarious. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow me on bloglovin. My (old) Crafty Place. ~~~ finding joy in the little things ~~~: 28 years
http://pursuingjoy.blogspot.com/2015/08/28-years.html
Saturday, August 8, 2015. That's how long we've been married - 28 years! At the same time. Weird how that works. If you were to ask me for marriage advice,. I would answer you with two words. But then I might elaborate ;-). The kids had TKD testing today. They all passed :-). So it made a weekend getaway a bit tricky. Tyler decided to take off from work Wednesday and Thursday. He already had Friday off as a flex day). And we rented a little condo on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs. Great days together,.
~~~ finding joy in the little things ~~~: busy beavers
http://pursuingjoy.blogspot.com/2011/04/busy-beavers.html
Thursday, April 28, 2011. Lots of work going on over here these days! My job was to cut and tie the ribbon;. I didn't have to wait on Lily one time that girl is good! Lily got tired of that job and went looking for another one. Jeremiah had been helping with the programs,. But he let Daddy take over for him. And Josiah picked up where Lily left off. He was just as speedy as Lily! There weren't as many jobs for Lexi. But she helped where she could. Can you guess which one Lex' did? She helped me make these.
