Beginners' Corner - Memphis Kendo Club: Ordering Zekken/Nafuda (name tag) for Memphis Kendo Club

http://beginningkendo.blogspot.com/2009/07/ordering-zekkennafuda-name-tage-for.html

Beginners' Corner - Memphis Kendo Club. Ordering Zekken/Nafuda (name tag) for Memphis Kendo Club. Some of you new folks in bogu have been involved with kendo long enough for you to need a "nafuda" (or "zekken" or "thing-with-your-name-on-it-that-fits-on-the-tare"). If you compete at a tournament, AUSKF rules actually mandate that you have one. It's also very handy to have if you go to seminars and such just so people can identify who you are. 1 access the above website and click on the link to the Zekken.

Beginners' Corner - Memphis Kendo Club: Kendo Reiho/Reigi ~ Etiquette

http://beginningkendo.blogspot.com/2010/07/kendo-reigi-etiquette.html

Beginners' Corner - Memphis Kendo Club. Sometimes folks can get a little lax in displaying proper kendo etiquette in the dojo. Recently, the Memphis Kendo Club has been concentrating more on this very, very important aspect of kendo and so I thought I'd take a couple of minutes to list 20 items of importance. Is not limited to just these 20 items, but these are very common and every kenshi should be well-versed in how to properly behave in class (and out). 2 After you put on the. On the floor with the.

Keep in mind that jigeiko is not "regular/kihon practice". Jigeiko is a real opportunity to work on what you've learned in class in a very practical way. It's not ...So, y...

Advanced Kendo Topics (Memphis Kendo Club): Avoiding De(bana)-Kote

http://experiencedkendo.blogspot.com/2007/10/avoiding-debana-kote.html

This comes from a recent discussion on the Kendo World message boards on the topic of debana kote. Immediately below is the original post which started the discussion and what follows are some selected responses. This is not meant to be all-encompassing, of course. Just a little food for thought. Being a taller player, I'm often concerned at being hit dekote in shiai and am wondering if others have advice as to how one can attack men and not be 'as' open to this cut? Rare an opponent will hit your kote.

For 3Dan-5.Dan: Learning Seme to Make Opponent Strike or Move Back. Previously, I referred to ‘four opportunities for striking’ and said that ‘striking when the opponent finishes a strike’ would be an important tactic for Kyu grade practitioners to learn and try during Ji-geiko with other Kyu grade holders. I also talked about attacking with feint actions and attacking with Sute-waza and Mise-waza that makes use of one’s Tokui-waza for 1st 2nd Dan practitioners. Go to the Beginner's Corner.

Beginning a Church in Kyneton

Beginning a Church in Kyneton. Sunday, June 21, 2015. In reading the minor prophets in the Old Testaments we come across some magnificent verses. Zerubbabel was the governor of Judah, and he was challenged and encouraged to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. The people who had returned from captivity had started, but then gave up. The prophets Haggai and Zechariah challenged and encouraged the people to finish rebuilding the Temple. Posted by Noel Johnston. Sunday, May 17, 2015. Who do we think we are?
