http://blueyscorner-penguin.blogspot.com/2010/08/merchant-of-venice.html
Friday, August 6, 2010. So how did you like my joke? I spent a whole month laughing about it, so I didn't have time to post the next blog post! Just kidding, it was because of exam preparation that I didn't post another blog post. But I'm back! So recently we're studying Shakespeare's play, "Merchant of Venice"(in your face Strand 2 people! And I think that posting what I've collated from the lessons on the text would help with my revision, and of course to let you guys know what "Merchant of Venice"( MOV.

Bluey's Corner: March 2010

Monday, March 22, 2010. The Many Different Kinds of Prejudice. Today in class, we discussed the holiday homework set to us, which were 3 essays. I think the most in depth area we discussed would be the different kinds of prejudice that were in the book, To Kill A Mockingbird. So the first kind of prejudice discussed was social prejudice, in which people of different social class discriminate against others. For example, in the text, the people of Maycombe. Were very prejudiced against the Ewells. So, on ...

Bluey's Corner: February 2009
http://blueyscorner-penguin.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 23, 2009. Aussie Pell SHINES in Singapore(LA assignment)! It's a blur of movement! You all are wrong! It is the Australian cyclist/biker, David. You can read about him and his feat on the newspaper dated 23rd February 2009 in the Home section.I think this is a character-driven story as the newspaper article just revolves about David Pell in about 80% of the sentences that were written by the journalist who went to the event. Because there was a sprints classification, something like a rac...

Bluey's Corner: June 2009
http://blueyscorner-penguin.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 29, 2009. When I looked up Poets.org, one name caught my eye. He is the author of my favourite poem. That's right, my favourite poet is Shel Silverstein. Because he is able to use all elements of the human feelings, like laughter, humour, sadness, grief, etc. to write his poems. Therefore, he has no fixed theme in his poems and the poems published today may be entirely different from that published the next day. He is also amazing in the fact that he is able to understand and write humorous.

Bluey's Corner: MOV-Prejudice
http://blueyscorner-penguin.blogspot.com/2010/08/mov-prejudice.html
Monday, August 9, 2010. Today I’ll be talking about Prejudice, one of the themes in the book. There are many different kinds of prejudice in the text of MOV, but the most prominent and dominant form that we can see Is religious prejudice. Other kinds of prejudice would be gender prejudice and racial prejudice, which I will touch on later. So the most dominant religion in England in those times was Protestantism. Why was this so? So, for this theme, the class also discussed whether Shylock’s revenge...

Bluey's Corner: Why did the chicken cross the road?
http://blueyscorner-penguin.blogspot.com/2010/07/why-did-chicken-cross-road.html
Sunday, July 25, 2010. Why did the chicken cross the road? I recently came across some good answers by a few people to the question mentioned above. So, why did the chicken cross the road? Mohammed Aldouri (Iraqi ambassador): The chicken did not cross the road. This is a complete fabrication. We don't even have a chicken. Aristotle: To actualize its potential. Buddha: If you ask this question, you deny your own chicken-nature. Could you define chicken, please? Salvador Dali: The Fish. Jacques Derrida: An...
