Yowza Alaska! | Laurenicium
https://laurenicium.wordpress.com/2010/08/13/yowza-alaska
My adventures in kitchen, by bike, on foot. Yeehaw, what a trip! As trips with Dad go, we packed in as much as we possibly could in our 8 days in Dad’s 50th state. We most certainly could have spent another 2 months exploring the 98% of the state that we couldn’t cover, but what we did get to see was totally awesome. From sneaking up to glaciers in our kayaks,. To adventuring in whatever weather we got thrown,. To seeing North America’s tallest mountain,. To check out a whole lot more photos, go here:.

Ithaca is hilly. | Laurenicium

My adventures in kitchen, by bike, on foot. Don’t you think you would’ve figured out this not-so-minor little detail when you lived in Ithaca for 4 years? OK, OK. I knew Ithaca was hilly, but I was harshly reminded of just how high up Cornell is when I decided to bike up to the plantations on campus today. If I can actually get my booty to bike (rather than bus) up that hill en route to class/work a few times a week, lets just say that I’ll be the proud new owner of some buns/legs of steel. Blog at WordP...

State Fair Woo Woo! | Laurenicium
https://laurenicium.wordpress.com/2010/09/18/ny-state-fair
My adventures in kitchen, by bike, on foot. State Fair Woo Woo! Despite the fact that I have lived in New York State for the vast majority of my lifetime, I had never been to the New York State Fair until a few weeks ago. Granted, the fair is in Syracuse, which is several hours from Montgomery where I grew up, but it was definitely about time that I went… and boy was I excited for it! It was kind of overwhelming how much there was to see! Britney Spareribs, Spongebob Squarepork, etc coming down the gates.

Adventures in Santa Fe | Laurenicium
https://laurenicium.wordpress.com/2010/06/13/adventures-in-santa-fe
My adventures in kitchen, by bike, on foot. Adventures in Santa Fe. Coffee break @ conference center. Dinner at cowboy cafe cantina. The conference itself was very good and featured a lot of very interesting talks. Despite the fact that I was only there for two days, my brain was plenty saturated with new knowledge. Hopefully I can channel some of the inspiration into thinking about my own research projects to start this fall. It was one of the most impressive I’ve been to, loaded with drool-induci...

Excuses to dress fancily | Laurenicium
https://laurenicium.wordpress.com/2010/05/13/excuses-to-dress-fancily
My adventures in kitchen, by bike, on foot. Excuses to dress fancily. Case 1: a benefit ball in DC. The event itself was pretty fun. It was in the Andrew Mellon Auditorium downtown, which is a beautiful building with lots of columns. The dinner itself was pretty tasty. We were amused by the fact that our vegetarian entree was smaller than the dessert, but it at least tasted very good. The entire night was open bar as well, so you can’t really go wrong with that. We met the Big Red Bear! After an afternoo...

https://laurenicium.wordpress.com/2010/07/23/summertime-rr
My adventures in kitchen, by bike, on foot. Summertime R & R. Phew, a lot has happened in the last few weeks! On July 9, I had my last day of work at USGS. I got a lot of good experience and met a bunch of great people there, but I’m also excited to move on to new things so it was a day of mixed emotions. The crew by Ward's bridge. Dad and co. near Benedict Farm Park. Jules and Kimberly on a bridge on Trapps Rd. Jules showing off her mad tree ID skills. See you when we get back 🙂. Date : July 23, 2010.
