I am reading about all of these wonderful women who have risked their lives to provide health care and other services to the poor throughout the world and I think of how health care should be a basic human right. Yet in most of the world it is something only the rich have access to and people who attempt to provide care often risk their lives and the lives of those they treat. Why do we place value on lives? Why do we feel some people are not worth our time or money?
