antigob: September 2010
http://antigob.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 September 2010. Filming for Against The Clock finished. On Saturday we shot the last day of footage for my documentary on drag racer Nigel Holland. We were really lucky; the weather was bright and clear and Nigel and his car got the all clear to race. And this time we had a car, three cameras and we dressed properly for Santa Pod– thick sock, hoodies and jackets with lots of pockets. Once again a massive thanks to Nigel Holland and his family for letting us film him and ask silly questions.

antigob: Can we have the future now?
http://antigob.blogspot.com/2011/06/can-we-have-future-now.html
Monday, 6 June 2011. Can we have the future now? A child on video chat in the year 2011. And one ten years earlier. He really is Mr Future in the way he talks and dresses – it's a very singular and futuristic look and the complete antithesis of most styles. Pretty much everyone (including me), has adopted a style that's an affectation of an idealised past. Oh yeah. Call me an idealist, but I think we've blown quite enough developing bombs that can fly windows to blow up the wrong people. My name is Tom.

antigob: December 2010
http://antigob.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 21 December 2010. What got you writing? I was asked this the other day - was it a book? Something noble – the erudite and concise language of 1984? Or did you have a trippy epiphany reading Hunter S Thompson during your late teens? Nope it was Skateboard! Magazine. Search online and you'll find many references to the original seventies version, which had quite a hobbyist vibe to it. That's not it. For me it was the relaunch in 1989 by editor Steve Kane. Monday, 20 December 2010. I have no experi...

Eek! A gerund!: More reasons to love The Onion
http://abisearlejones.blogspot.com/2007/09/more-reasons-to-love-onion.html
Gerund: jer'und, n: a part of speech, something like a hamster but with sharp pointy teeth. Monday, 3 September 2007. More reasons to love The Onion. As if we needed more reason to love them. 1 - Gratuitous mentions of monsters. Monsters are pretty much my favourite thing. I'm particularly fond of using the word as a verb, which is more grist to my theory that you can use pretty much any noun in English as a verb and people will know what you mean – eg 'can I window your diary'? 2 - Naming of hurricanes.

Eek! A gerund!: March 2007
http://abisearlejones.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Gerund: jer'und, n: a part of speech, something like a hamster but with sharp pointy teeth. Wednesday, 28 March 2007. Having the time to be brief. I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter." – Blaise Pascal. It's probably the most relevant quote I've ever found for what I do. I'm constantly asked to shorten, shorten, shorten. It drives me crazy. Don't they see how the word 'scout' in paragraph 47 cleverly references the notion of 'being prepared' in paragraph 8?
