Explorations in science and medicine. Sticky Blood- The disease with five names. Sticky blood has many other names: Hughes Syndrome, Antiphospholipid Syndrome, APS and is an autoimmune disorder where abnormal antibodies attack phospholipids which have an important role in maintaining the consistency of blood; the blood becomes too sticky which increases the risk of blood clots. The one, unanswered question I had was- why are there five names for one disease? Comment below if you think you know!

There are certain illnesses that are linked to, not caused by, to the cold temperatures of winter (colds, flu and Norovirus. Those with mental health conditions.
