Sunday, October 18, 2009. Last week in first grade. I think this week went really well. It seems like when I finally get into the groove of things, it is time to get ready to go. It really is hard to come into a classroom and learn how a teacher runs her room, take over the class, and give it back over, all in 8 weeks! I have been so blessed at this school and wish I could stay here all 16 weeks! I will miss my first graders so much and will definitely have to come back and visit when I am all done!

Sunday, September 27, 2009. I taught Math and parts of Language Arts this past week. I noticed my CT stopped intervening in my lessons pretty much now, so I guess I am starting to get the hang of things. My CT did my mid-term evlaution and it went really well! It sounds as if you have a busy week. You will be in my prayers as you take on more responsibilities. I am glad the CT has stopped interrupting, because that can confuse the children. It really takes several weeks to just get the hang of classroom management and behavior, especiallly at the beginning of the school year. I felt like this week I had to show a lot of tough love! The assistant principal is coming to observe me on Tuesday morning for Language Arts. I am very nervous, but am glod that I waited for him to come until I had bevaior more under control. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Around 8:20 the kids come to the carpet to do the daily calendar and start the math lesson. This week we are doing things like working with math tools, writing the numbers 1 and 2, and learning "one more and one less" on the number line. My lessons are fun and exciting and I have gotten positive feedback from my teacher so far. It will definitely come in handy in the next few weeks when I take over the classroom full time! Friday, October 2, 2009. This week was rough. But I am learning to be tough. Both her and my CT had gracious words and feedback to give and I am thankful for their positive praises. I pray daily that I am being effective. Monday turned out to be a good day; Tuesday was rough; Wednesday was okay; Thursday I cried; and Friday was better. To say that I am merely just. I was excited to meet the little first graders that I will be spending the next several weeks with and now that I have spent a few days with them, I am realizing they are not that scary after all. :).
