Established in June 2011, Cork City Firebirds is a flat-track roller derby league in Cork, Ireland. We train at the Little Island Sports Complex, and we train on Thursdays and Sundays. Cork City Firebirds vs DRD C. By Cork City Firebirds. April 6, 2015 ⋅. We were very excited for our first bout of the season against Dublin Roller Derby’s C Team. For many of the Firebirds, it was their first official bout. At half-time we were neck and neck. The Firebirds pulled ahead after half-time but Dublin took the win with 175 points to 135. Captain Anaïs won Best Blocker, Honnie Badger won Best Jammer and Deathro Tull was awarded Most Valuable Player. Thanks to the lovely Viqueens. May 12, 2015.

Roller Derby is an expensive business. For many us of at the Cork City Firebirds, our skates are the most expensive shoes we own. Hall rental, insurance, jerseys and hosting teams and bootcamps are some of the many operating costs our league manages on a regular basis. Fundraising is integral to ensure club runs smoothly, not just for the present but to nurture, grow and expand roller derby in Cork City in the years to come.
