Minding our own Business: February 2010
http://islandcloseups.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Minding our own Business. Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Let your life speak. It's rare when we read in a book descriptions that so closely resemble ourselves. When it occurs it can be un-nerving, off putting, or, if we're open, convicting. Let Your Life Speak. Has been one of those books for me. It was wisely recommended by a perceptive friend,. Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Here's to long cuts, life change and healing our world. And here's to Team Canada taking the long cut to gold. :). The ‘Bible&#...

Minding our own Business: March 2010
http://islandcloseups.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Minding our own Business. Tuesday, March 23, 2010. It has actually stopped raining 9 days a week so I can finally get some work done. I remember a good friend telling me "you'll love the Island but get used to the wet winters." Didn't sound too bad then but after 3 months I get it sky. Time for something new. Next month I'm teaching 4 workshops on how to care for your lawn naturally. This is important as I've really missed the teaching part of my past life and this is a way to keep that alive. Why We Can...

Minding our own Business: April 2010
http://islandcloseups.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Minding our own Business. Sunday, April 4, 2010. I hesitate even further to open this 4 gallon pail of worms because casting doubt on the factual ressurection of Jesus Christ is analagous to denying the existence of God. In fact, that would be the expected reaction to anyone doing such as thing. So, I'm not about to be one of those people. You can relax. Dad. :). For the wonders that astound us. For the truths that still confound us. Most of all that love has found us, thanks be to God. Are quite right&#...

Minding our own Business. Friday, March 5, 2010. The humus analogy is apt ( and not my own). New life grows out of mud. So next time you're in it, don't waste your time trying to get unstuck. Let it grow you up. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). This is where we work. Expectation is the brand killer. Why We Can All Stop Being So Afraid of Different. Minding our own Business: November 2009
http://islandcloseups.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Minding our own Business. Sunday, November 29, 2009. I helped teach Sunday School at our new church. Of course kids are kids and there was one who kept flicking over the plastic canvas wise men and saying blah, blah, blah and rolling on his back (wasn't one of mine, so phew). Another boy kept commenting on how nice church smells, why does it smell. I love the smell of this place and when the teacher lit the candle "mmmm, that smells great! Monday, November 23, 2009. Minding our own Business: Virgin Birth
http://islandcloseups.blogspot.com/2009/12/virgin-birth.html
Minding our own Business. Monday, December 21, 2009. In honor of Christmas I thought I'd pop the questions. 1 Do you believe Jesus was born of a virgin? Why or Why not? 2 How has this belief changed the way you live? Do i dare be the first one to say anything? I also find it interesting that so many ancient religions that came before the Jewish faith tradition and the Christian faith claim to have had a savior born of a virgin as well. it makes you wonder.well, lots of things. Minding our own Business: I'm an Athiest?
http://islandcloseups.blogspot.com/2010/03/im-athiest.html
Minding our own Business. Monday, March 1, 2010. And if left unchecked, will cause breakage. The end result is burnout, depression and despair as the person learns that they can't control others and the world will not bend to their will. As depressing as this all sounds, its much worse living like this. And explains a lot. If you're this person. Hmmm That being said, I did predict at the onset of the game that Crosby would score the winner so maybe I did control things. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
