http://tuckerthewunderkind.blogspot.com/2015/07/suddenly-farm-esdctaecrda-horse-show.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. Suddenly Farm ESDCTA/ECRDA Horse Show. So I headed to the outdoor, checked Equitests one more time to make sure I knew what letter the 15m canter circles are at, and I was ready and trotting around the outer edge of the arena as soon as the rider before me did her final salute. This time I will not be caught off guard with an early bell! So let's talk about what went right! And I even touched him with my whip in the right-to-left and he didn't have a melt down. His trot lengthe...

Flying Free: Pony Time!!!
http://jumpthestars.blogspot.com/2016/06/pony-time.html
My personal journey: exploring horsemanship, college, growing up, and life in general. Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Guess which girl was able to see her own horses in person last week? This one, of course! Due to previous circumstances, I was able to get almost all of last week off from work and go back to East Texas to spend time with my family and, obviously, the lovely little mare that I am privileged to call mine! Also got to see my favorite dog again! That was great :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Flying Free: February 2016

My personal journey: exploring horsemanship, college, growing up, and life in general. Saturday, February 20, 2016. Because of how he travels, I had a hard time with my balance at the trot, both in twopoint and posting. We did a lap of sitting trot and WOW is he smooth! Seriously, I've never sat a more comfortable trot. We did a lot of work on on getting a consistent, balanced canter and it was lovely when we got it right. The next day, I popped out to ride again since the weather was fantastic! On Monda...

Flying Free: January 2016
http://jumpthestars.blogspot.com/2016_01_01_archive.html
My personal journey: exploring horsemanship, college, growing up, and life in general. Saturday, January 30, 2016. Two weeks ago at work, everyone was going on and on about the Powerball and what they would do if they won. Since I don't buy tickets, the entire idea was a no-go for me, but it did get me thinking. What would I do if I ever became rich? But we would all end up putting some of that money into horses, right? Except that I would want to buy up the biggest piece of land that I could find and tu...

Option B, Version 2.0. Smile cue transitions to the kiss cue. So we've started Option B, version 2.0. Archie is being segregated from the other geldings overnight so that he can stuff his face full of hay, in a pasture, and we can determine if this is the cause of this month's episode of Killing My Pony. I pulled him out of the pasture on Tuesday and he was drenched in sweat and blowing, hard. The angle might be exaggerating, but not by much. My 6'3" husband was pushing the scale at over three hundred po...

Autonomous Dressage: December 2016
http://autonomousdressage.blogspot.com/2016_12_01_archive.html
Friday, 30 December 2016. In the last month, we've finally hit some breakthroughs and are starting to be able to actually move forward instead of just filling in holes. I'm sure I'll discover another hole at some point, but for now I want to keep up with the forward momentum and that means developing a progression plan. Where we are Now. Note, for the purposes of this post, right now "good" = relaxed rounded topline even rhythm slow tempo (not overly slow, but not running) correct bend acceptance of bit.
