Sunday, July 31, 2016. We took our kids to Santa Cruz last year. And they never stopped talking about it. They were thrilled to be back. Silas gained two inches, which put him over the 50-inch ride limitation for the Giant Dipper - his first roller coaster. I felt compelled to take a selfie, despite prominent signage warning us to keep phones in pockets. (For good reason - the coaster really knocks you around.). After the ride I told Silas I thought he'd seemed a little scared. He said, "VERY scared!

Wednesday, September 7, 2016. This is Rosemary tackling her first homework assignment. She tore through the entire week's packet in about half an hour, and then said, "I wish they gave me more. I want more! A decidedly different outlook than that of her brother. I went back and checked the blog post from Silas' first homework. Damned if I hadn't written, "As for Rosemary, she can barely wait to have homework of her own.". Almost exactly four years later, Rosemary gets her wish. Morning at the Park.

Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Tess started out strong in preschool. Early on, I tried to put a dress on her, and she demanded "my red shirt with words on it.". Unsure what she meant, I asked what the words said. It says, Tess is going to preschool! It says: "Building Blocks Preschool Program."). Lately, however, Tess has become nervous about going to preschool. She claims to be "too sleepy" to attend, and around 8:00 am she crawls back into her bed and pretends to fall asleep. We visited New Orleans last weekend with the Grandparents Keithley. Meredith and I were there for a wedding; the grandparents were there to babysit. We stayed right on St. Charles Avenue - the kids loved the street cars. Grandma and Rosemary on Bourbon Street. Silas with a beignet at Cafe Du Monde. Dancing on the levee.

Saturday, January 30, 2016. We headed 6000 feet up the Sierras, near Arnold, CA, with Silas's group of Boy Scouts. Rosemary misses winter every bit as much as Silas, so I brought her along too. (Tess stayed home with Meredith.). The kids loved being in the snow. And it wasn't even that cold - just 32 degrees. More pictures are here. Saturday, January 16, 2016.
