I'm back in full swing American life right now and working at Kanakuk for the summer as the programs director. I'm loving it, but it's been a ton of work. Song of the day. Monday, January 30, 2012. Our kitchen. You'll notice that the TV is on (it's always. On), and there is a blanket under the table. There's a heater underneath the table, as well, and every afternoon and night we eat dinner while watching TV and talking. When your body is both full and warm, it's no wonder the Spanish take siestas! The room in between where we eat and where our rooms/kitchen/bathroom is. I have literally never done anything in this room, or seen Gracia do anything here.

Friday, June 26, 2015. Julie and Elsy Visit. Julie put lots of fun pics on Facebook of their visit. It was great. Absolutely wonderful! Here are a few pictures she didn't have. Saturday, August 29, 2015. We heard of this thing called "Fourth Friday" in downtown Olathe. No one had ever talked about it so we weren't sure what to expect but it was free and gave us something to do! The Olathe library was there for story time and a craft. There was a balloon artist. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Sublette raised money to put in a new park up by the city pool. After quite a few delays, it is open for business and it is AWESOME! We went for the first time this week after going to the pool. They have a small, short area for kids Cole's size, and it's just perfect for him. He hasn't ventured to the very top (it's probably two-stories tall), but I'm sure that day isn't too far away. I'm grateful for a town that thinks to invest in these sorts of things. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Cole has been changing a lot lately, growing up. One of the biggest changes I've been noticing is his newfound ability to play by himself for longer. This sometimes-weary-mama thought this day would never come! But check him out playing with his guys from Grandma Ellis the other morning. Tucking them in so they don't get cold. Thursday, July 30, 2015. Great Mall is almost dead! Charlotte and I went to a movie at the Great Mall this afternoon. They had the corridors by the mall blocked off. It was like being in a place where the world had stopped. No one around. One girl was the only one working in the theater. There was only one person in our theater watching the movie.
