Bellyache with the Sister: I'll Call You ...
http://sisterstaceypatrick.blogspot.com/2007/02/ill-call-you.html
Bellyache with the Sister. Thursday, February 01, 2007. I'll Call You . Article in today's Star about banning cell phones in Toronto Schools. I don’t get the debate on banning cell phones during class time in schools. I mean, we weren’t allowed to use calculators during math class in high school (yes, I am totally aging myself here! Or listen to our Walkman either, so why all of a sudden all the agony of whether to ban them or not? Who do kids need to call during class? Don’t get me wrong I love my cell ...

Bellyache with the Sister: How can we afford
http://sisterstaceypatrick.blogspot.com/2007/01/how-can-we-afford-not-to.html
Bellyache with the Sister. Thursday, January 25, 2007. How can we afford not. Why can’t we raise the minimum wage in this province to $10 an hour? Greg Sorbara and an assortment of political yahoos seem convinced that by allowing people to earn a real living and actually afford to eat, put a roof over their heads and get medical care that tens of thousands of jobs will be lost. It’s an absolute travesty that one of the most expensive provinces to live in has one of the lowest rates for minimum wage.

Bellyache with the Sister: Rather than address the real issue ...
http://sisterstaceypatrick.blogspot.com/2007/01/rather-than-address-real-issue.html
Bellyache with the Sister. Wednesday, January 17, 2007. Rather than address the real issue . Mayor Miller is all concerned and is presenting to city counsel that media only mention intersections where crimes take place rather than mentioning Scarborough ‘cause he says the media is giving the neighbourhood a bad rap. Guess it’s a slow week at City Hall. Posted by Sister Staceypatrick at 11:26 AM. Sounds like an arguement ole Shrub would use. Oh, you mean like how it worked for Jane and Finch? Happy Birthd...

Bellyache with the Sister: Happy 2007!
http://sisterstaceypatrick.blogspot.com/2007/01/happy-2007.html
Bellyache with the Sister. Saturday, January 06, 2007. Yeah, not posting so much these days but thought I'd check in a type a quick entry. Had a great Christmas - The Good Father and I both had the full week off and we did a lot of eating, drinking and loafing about. I got some great CDs, DVDs and an awesome amout of books (hurray! Among our mutual gifty bits under our own little tree. And the cats had an absolute field day leaping about all the scraps of wrapping paper. And now I have benefits!

Bellyache with the Sister: The Lights are On ...
http://sisterstaceypatrick.blogspot.com/2006/10/lights-are-on.html
Bellyache with the Sister. Saturday, October 21, 2006. The Lights are On . A few people have wondered where I've gone. Honestly? Nowhere, but new full-time job is taking up a lot of my time! Not that I'm working rediculous over-time, but I do tend to hit the computer running in the morning and don't stop until there's smoke rising from the keyboard. Needless to say not much time to blog during the day, and when I get home the last thing I want to do is turn the computer on again, you know? But rest assur...

Bellyache with the Sister: August 2005
http://sisterstaceypatrick.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Bellyache with the Sister. Tuesday, August 30, 2005. I Wondered When This Would Happen. Got this email from a friend of mine today:. IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES. AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES. SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE W...

Bellyache with the Sister: March 2005
http://sisterstaceypatrick.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Bellyache with the Sister. Monday, March 28, 2005. Now I'm pretty clear in my belief that all religions and ways of life - provided they don't harm anyone or try to profess their way is the only "right" way - should be free to do as they please on this planet. Such is the supposed beauty of the country I live in called Canada. In today's Toronto Star, the highest Sikh authority in India. I somehow doubt that. As an MP, are you supposed to put your religion first or the rights of all Canadians? They seeme...

Bellyache with the Sister: June 2005
http://sisterstaceypatrick.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Bellyache with the Sister. Thursday, June 30, 2005. Scientology not so scientific. Dear Tom Cruise,. Thank you oh so very much for opening the eyes of the public to the fact that psychiatric drugs are bullshit and that there is no scientific basis for them. Thank the gods we have someone like you out there to set us straight! Heavens, when I think of all those fake doctors (psychiatrists) that are bilking society out of millions of dollars each year it boggles my mind! Or perhaps a PhD? But, you must!

Bellyache with the Sister: September 2005
http://sisterstaceypatrick.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Bellyache with the Sister. Friday, September 30, 2005. Appears in today's Toronto Star about how the Catholic Church may refuse Canadian politicians communion for passing the gay marriage bill. Regardless, my first reaction was "how childish is this? What, so if this country won't do what one church in particular thinks is "right" (no pun intended here) then fine, we'll take our waffers and wine and go home? I somehow doubt it so why make this particular comment singling out the politicians? So rather th...

Bellyache with the Sister: Contradictory Quote of the Day
http://sisterstaceypatrick.blogspot.com/2006/12/contradictory-quote-of-day.html
Bellyache with the Sister. Wednesday, December 13, 2006. Contradictory Quote of the Day. From today's Toronto Star. An article about the new Left Behind computer game in which players are religious zealots who have to convert or kill non-believers in the name of Christ. When interviewed, the creator of the game had this to say in response to criticism that the game promotes religious intollerance:. But what do I know? Posted by Sister Staceypatrick at 2:22 PM. I beat you to this by a day. Scary eh? It's ...
