Saturday, 20 August 2016. Today Beltana is actively popultated with around 50 adults and 20 children, approximately half that number living here permenantly. Children who live here mostly make an 80km round trip to Leigh Creek each day for school. Daily supplies are obtained from Leigh Creek including mail and emergency services. In early July 2017, members of the Beltana Progress Association gathered to begin renovations on the Hall kitchen. Beltana Progress Association, in partnership with Flinders Management Services has instigated a waste management programme for Beltana. In 2016 - 2017 Beltana Progress Association completed the construction of a community picnic grounds in the town.
