Thursday, January 27, 2011. The Lull between Christmas and New Year’s. My mom does not need prompting). So what is so special about this neighborhood? Since I was unable to attend my family’s Christmas, we had Christmas again. After our large breakfast and some wonderful apple cider that I made from scratch, we sat around the Christmas tree and exchanged gifts. At the marriage retreat a couple we met surprised Ben with a pastry and organized the whole banquet hall to sing “Happy Birthday” to him. It was so sweet! I almost started to forget the disorganization of the military after the marriage retreat, but luckily I was swiftly corrected. That’s the military for you, always screwing up your plans.
