Last sight was this communal carpet washing facility, apparently most Finish towns have one down by the beach. Because clean carpets are a national obsession apparently. Arriving into Joburg, one of the worst cities for crime in the world, at 05.00 on a bus which ended its journey in a ropey garage on the ‘wrong side’ of town was somewhat nerve wracking. I took the lead of the other passengers, all of whom stayed on the bus for a further 2 hours after arrival, until the sun was up and the streets considered safe to travel in. Ben s Travel Blog. March 13, 2016. Just returned from a 1day 1night organised trip to the Chobe National Park in Botswana. Getting there involved crossing the shortest international border in the world by ferry. The border is officially only a 150m long between Zambia and Botswana, squeezed between Zimbabwe and Namibia.
