Flooded waterways on the south coast have started to clear up and fish are coming back on the bite in a big way. The lower reaches of most estuaries are fishing really well for flathead, provided anglers use lures with plenty of colour or noise. Small metal lures will do the job, but anglers fishing with whole pilchards on a gang of three #5/0 hooks are experiencing the greatest success.
