Lives in Being: Say Nice Words
http://livesinbeing.blogspot.com/2010/06/say-nice-words.html
A peek into the delicate balance we call our lives. Saturday, June 5, 2010. Wow, a very, very long 3 month hiatus! I'd love to give you a reason, but as best as I can figure out - I just got really busy and perhaps stopped seeing the humor in my kids. Or, rather, was still seeing the humor but not finding the time to document it. Let's hope it was the latter, as the former sounds really depressing. You need to let me help you! It is very late, past your bedtime. Me do it me self! Get on the potty right t...

Lives in Being: June 2010
http://livesinbeing.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
A peek into the delicate balance we call our lives. Monday, June 14, 2010. Two weeks from today, I'm having a kidney stone blasted out. I'm a world-class chicken and absolutely terrified of anything you can properly term a "procedure.". Last night, I heard the dreaded noise of a door opening and the pitter pat of little feet about 45 minutes past bedtime. I went to ask Elisabeth what was wrong and she asked for a pen. I gently (surprised, aren't you? So, I'm a sucker. And the Academy Award goes to. Anywa...

Lives in Being: Commercialization
http://livesinbeing.blogspot.com/2010/02/commercialization.html
A peek into the delicate balance we call our lives. Tuesday, February 16, 2010. When we were in Florida recently, as we drove East on I-4 towards Orlando Elisabeth saw a billboard with a picture of a pile of money with eyes on it. She nearly jumped out of her seat pointing and saying "Mommy, Mommy! That's the money you could be saving with Geico! So are you saying that I should return the barbie we got E for her birthday? February 17, 2010 at 11:41 AM. Isnt it amazing that absolutely nothing escapes them!

Lives in Being: August 2009
http://livesinbeing.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
A peek into the delicate balance we call our lives. Thursday, August 27, 2009. I am going to make an effort to post more pictures. Here are two favorites from the last few weeks:. Elisabeth making mudpies down by the stream behind our house. Charlotte after decorating her 2nd birthday cake. And speaking of magic words. Elisabeth learned a little bit about having a big brother this week. She went to her friend's house, who has a brother a few years older. The brother had them blocked in the ba...Said the ...

Lives in Being: November 2009
http://livesinbeing.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
A peek into the delicate balance we call our lives. Friday, November 20, 2009. Heffalumps and Santa Claus. Charlotte and Elisabeth both love Pooh stories. In particular, they love this little book where Pooh has a nightmare that there's a Heffalump in his house. The Heffalump, in the nightmare, says "Ho ho ho, I'm going to EAT you! As if Santa Claus isn't scary enough, now he's pretty much a thing of nightmares that says "I'm going to eat you! To which Elisabeth responded "ho ho ho! Or sometimes I inters...

Lives in Being: January 2010
http://livesinbeing.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
A peek into the delicate balance we call our lives. Wednesday, January 20, 2010. After nearly a month of frigid temperatures, it finally got to be above 40 last Thursday. Now, I'm a Florida girl - so you know that it has been really cold when I. Go out in 45 degree weather in just a long sleeve t-shirt and seriously contemplate a picnic. I decided it was probably too cold for a picnic, but by gosh those kids were getting outside for some much needed airing out. Until a hawk came flying in low, right over...

Lives in Being: "I found Jesus!!"
http://livesinbeing.blogspot.com/2008/01/i-found-jesus.html
A peek into the delicate balance we call our lives. Monday, January 14, 2008. When she opened the Nativity Set, she immediately developed a fondness for baby Jesus. This is probably because of Charlotte. Baby Jesus in his manger looks an awful lot like Baby Charlotte in her papasan style swing. Baby Charlotte (excuse the flower costume). She immediately took the Baby Jesus and put him under her shirt and pretended to be pregnant. She drug Doug into the play room and said "quick! I'm having a baby! Costco...
