Published November 4, 2012. She rolls sluggishly out of bed. Knowing nothing of the colder, crueler world that exists alongside her own. Just as the fragile, innocent ladybug knows nothing of the dark feathered bird that swoops down from above. Like a taloned red eyed messenger of death. She shuffles mechanically into the crumbling ruin of the ancient bathroom. Scrubs the tears and grime from her bloodless face. Not noticing the midnight black wings that arch up from her bony back. My Fantasy Poem 2. Published January 6, 2013. A creature with eyes like black stars, shrouded in forgotten moonlight. Watches darkness drip and trickle and seep. Through a kaleidoscope of forgotten dreams. Listens to the tinkle of shattered promises. The broken wing of a dying moth flutters so gently. Worthy of a nobler end than the one fate serves, cackling so cruelly. Another promises breaks, tinkling so sweetly we press thin lips together to hear. The newspaper does its butchers work. My Fantasy Poem 1. Published January 6, 2013. Black ink, white page. A blot of darkness spilled in rage. Words and shadows make a cage. Its power not stunted by rust or age. Black sky, white snow.
