Flickfeed.js - FlickFeed is a delightfully simple way to show Flickr photos on your website.
http://benhowdle.im/flickfeed
FlickFeed is a delightfully simple way to show Flickr photos on your website. Only the tiniest amount of JavaScript needed, promise! Once you've downloaded your zip file, move the file flickfeed.js. To the appropriate place on your web server. You'll also see demo.html. Which contains a fully working version of Flickfeed. It has the needed HTML and JavaScript code to get you going! The needed bits of JavaScript you can copy and paste are shown below. This actually kicks off the Flickfeed plugin. In case ...
Ben Howdle - Workshops
http://benhowdle.im/workshops
JavaScript Workshops and Training. There most certainly will be some overlap between the two course types, with a lot of the content being a more in-depth version of its "beginner" counterpart. Intro to JS and Data types. A quick run through on the Primitive data types (String, Number and Boolean), the Composite data types (Objects and Arrays) and the Special data types (Null and Undefined). AJAX (XMLHttpRequest) is what we'll cover here. Ties in most of the topics above nicely. An explanation of the "ne...
Touche.js - seamless touch event mapping for your click events
http://benhowdle.im/touche
Seamless touch event mapping for your click events. Effortlessly re-map click events to touch events on touchscreen UIs. Removes the 300ms delay (after the user lifts their finger), applied by all touchscreens devices and immediately invokes your click handlers. Takes your click events applied with jQuery and silently re-maps them to the "touchend" event for devices that support touch. If you're not using jQuery, then Touche exposes a method "on" for your use. Made by Ben Howdle.
deSVG
http://benhowdle.im/deSVG
Remove inline SVG bloat from your HTML document. Style SVGs with CSS. SVGs still accessible without JavaScript. What does it do? DeSVG takes the img / tags you supply. It then grabs, using AJAX, the raw SVG you've set in the "src" attribute and replaces that img / with the svg / it downloads. Include the JavaScript file on your page. Script src=path/to/desvg.js /script. Made by Ben Howdle.
SVGeezy - a JS plugin for SVG fallbacks
http://benhowdle.im/svgeezy
The hood love to listen to jeezy and weezy and oh yeah SVGeezy…". A simple JavaScript plugin. Which detects SVG images on your website, and automatically "looks" for a standard image fallback for those older, less capable browsers. Those browsers need lovin’ too dawg. Share this on Twitter. SVG is a vector graphics format, meaning it’s perfectly scalable. Whatever size it needs to display at, or whatever screen it needs to display on, an SVG will adapt perfectly. A Quick Scaling Demo. PNGs, JPGs, etc.

The Ben Howe Blog. Why is the United States Government Financing Our Foreign Competition? Here’s a a question: If tax dollars were being used to make prices cheaper for companies overseas while simultaneously forbidding American companies from enjoying the same luxury…would that be fair? I would submit that it’s not and President Obama claimed to feel the same way at his State of the Union earlier this year. Continue reading →. Is Newt Much Better on the Question of Mandates?
