Summer in full effect | Benjamin Horn
http://benjaminhorn.io/post/summer-in-full-effect
Summer in full effect. July 26, 2015. Weirdest thing this week? I went up on a roof top and the first thing I saw as I stepped out of the elevator was a Soviet made MiG-21. That’s not something that happens every day. The worst part of this otherwise fun experience was that I had left my camera at home, so I only had my iphone. MiG-21 on a roof. Paulina and I decided to go to Sveaborg. I have a habit of photgraphing street signs if there some how related to my life. Alexanterinkatu translates to Alex...
Canon EF 20-35mm f/2.8 L | Benjamin Horn
http://benjaminhorn.io/post/canon-ef-20-35mm-f2-8-l
Canon EF 20-35mm f/2.8 L. July 14, 2015. The last lens I talked about was the Canon EF 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 USM. A lens which is interesting since it’s not talked about that much (since it’s old and uninteresting on a whole). This time around I’m going to talk about the L version, the Canon EF 20-35mm f/2.8 L. I picked it up last year, and I can positively say that since I got it, I haven’t used the USM version a single time. Canon EOS 5D, Canon EF 20-35mm f/2.8L @ 34mm, F/2.8, 1/5000s, ISO 100. Even though...
Printed my first image | Benjamin Horn
http://benjaminhorn.io/post/printed-my-first-image
Printed my first image. July 27, 2015. The original edit of the image. Anyway, I decided that I’d try to print out one of my favorite pictures, an image that I captured last year when I was in Åland. The edited version for print. You can’t really tell in this small resolution, but a lot of the grain is removed. I decided to use Ifolor. I was really excited when I got home from work and noticed the package. I ripped it open, and took a look at the image. Intrigued by my findings, I decided to print a batc...

Meillä on unelma – We have a dream | Benjamin Horn

Meillä on unelma – We have a dream. August 1, 2015. Earlier in the week there was a gathering of people who rallied against racist comments made by some of our politicians. Naturally I was there, and with my camera. It’s carzy that the event was basically thrown together in a couple of days by a group of individuals, and the people of Helsinki got together, 15,000 of us. If you want to read more about the event, here’s a news article (in English) published by YLE (the Finnish public service). May 24, 2015.

Hähnel ProCube Review | Sebastian's Blog
https://grumpytechie.net/2015/03/15/hahnel-procube-review
Life of a grumpy techie. March 15, 2015. When you open up the (quite easy to dismantle) box, the following contents will probably fall out. Included in the box you get the ProCube. Itself, along with the 4 different plates for the different types of batteries that it supports, as well as the 4xAA adapter, a power brick with adapters for US, UK and Euro-style outlets, a 12VDC car adapter, a manual and a small tool (the paper clip looking thing on top of the manual). For them to latch together properly.
