I'm a developer and designer from Bristol, United Kingdom. Here, you will find my musings on code, life things and the occasional rant — follow along. It’s time for a fresh start. This site has been everything and nothing, but finally I’ve found a use for it that I’m happy to roll with. Will soon cease to exist. That’s all to say for now really, this will just get the ball rolling. Though, I’d like to quickly point out that I’m running this on Jekyll. Wednesday, 05 February 2014.
Change — Web developer & designer from Bristol
https://benjaminreid.me/post/change
I'm a developer and designer from Bristol, United Kingdom. Here, you will find my musings on code, life things and the occasional rant — follow along. Towards the end of last year I’d say I made a fair few big changes in my life. I upped sticks to another part of Bristol, moved in with my girlfriend, and to top it off I also decided to change jobs all at the same time! What brought on the sudden change was Penny uprooting from Peterborough to Bristol, just as I did three years ago. Where am I now? To end...

I'm a developer and designer from Bristol, United Kingdom. Here, you will find my musings on code, life things and the occasional rant — follow along. My favourite game of 2013. Straight off, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that my favourite game of 2013 has to be Naughty Dog’s. The Last Of Us. Rather than give it an in-depth review (it needs no more of these), or pick it apart piece by piece, I’m just going to pick a few elements that made it stand out for me. Gore, done right. The Last Of Us has ...

I'm a developer and designer from Bristol, United Kingdom. Here, you will find my musings on code, life things and the occasional rant — follow along. Integrating Laravel and Angular views. Recently I’ve been laying down the foundations for a web application Penny and I have thought up. A lot of that time so far has been me scratching my head about which technologies we’d need to build it with and I now know what we’re going to use. I’d been keen to start seriously using Angular. A new look for July — Nouveller
http://nouveller.com/general/a-new-look-for-july
A new look for July. July 1, 2013. Oops, well May and June didn't get a look in. So July's is going to be have to be extra shiny. This was taken on a very weird day when the sun was out in all it's glory but it had just tipped it down with rain. So this feels a little lack lustre. While searching through my photo collection I noticed I hadn't taken any "proper" shots in a while. So for August this will be rectified. If you didn't see the site last month, here's what was previously there. You may use these.

The Jurassic Park 404 page. April 30, 2013. As part of this new site I wanted to have a fun 404 page, as I think keeping an element of fun and personality is essential when representing yourself. You could say this may be a bit of a trend but me and Keir. Set out over a couple of nights to hack something together that we'd really be proud of. Haven't seen it yet? Then do have a look and play. Do we use social share buttons? — Nouveller

Do we use social share buttons? January 30, 2014. I came across a question in Basecamp today from a client saying "Should we add some social share buttons? Which more or less translates to "Lets add some share buttons". This question got asked to me as a designer, rather than my usual role as a developer, so I challenged this more than I probably normally would, replying "yeah, do we. Need to add need to add share buttons? I asked on Twitter posed the question on Twitter. I rarely use these buttons to sh...

Saturday, August 2, 2008.
