Elizabeth in Africa: October 2011
http://elizabethmercyships.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Virginia, United States. View my complete profile. Sunday, October 30, 2011. A Sunday to Remember. What a day this has been! Anyway, I was holding onto the metal bar behind me with one hand, and my water bottle with the other. I get so nervous when the driver gets to an open stretch of road and floors the bike. There are so many things that could go wrong! Thankfully, Maree and I reached our destination safely at the same time, even though we had split up for most of the ride. I laughed at the irony of it.

http://elizabethmercyships.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Virginia, United States. View my complete profile. Wednesday, September 21, 2011. This is a phrase that is used very often here in Africa. Sometimes it's shortened to "TIA." It is said to remind us that we are no longer back home.and things are very different here. Unpredictable. This past Saturday I had quite an adventure. It was a TIA day. :). I am an African too.I feel my roots here in this continent.". I was so excited to have the opportunity to visit this historic island. An abandoned schoolhouse we...

Elizabeth in Africa: June 2012
http://elizabethmercyships.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Virginia, United States. View my complete profile. Saturday, June 9, 2012. What I Think About. I think about Africa every single day. Sometimes I welcome the memories, but other times, I would prefer not to think about them. When I visit my grandmother in the nursing home where she is so well cared for. I think about the woman on the street with no place to live,. Her back hunched with age. She begs for money,. But I have none to give. All I can do is hold her hand and pray for her. I blow bubbles for her.

Virginia, United States. View my complete profile. Sunday, April 8, 2012. Back to the Africa Mercy. I hope that everyone has been encouraged today by remembering the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ! I love a statement that my pastor made today. He said "God took on weakness so He could draw near to us (through Jesus his Son).He allows us to be weak so that we must rely on Him.". My exciting news is that I will be re-joining the Africa Mercy this summer for 5 weeks! I am SO excited! Check ou...

Virginia, United States. View my complete profile. Monday, December 19, 2011. Last Days in Ghana. And at night you would hear odd sounds from things in the cabin that were rolling around. Someone described sailing as "being on a roller coaster you can't get off of" and I agree! Hahathat's me near the middle in a lime green shirt. We spent hours every day hanging out on the bow of the ship. The sign said "Akwaaba" which means welcome! Independance Arch in downtown Accra. Joyce and Comfort on the left are ...

Virginia, United States. View my complete profile. Saturday, August 27, 2011. This is Osman posing for the picture (he likes soccer). He is 9 years old. I cannot imagine being only 9 years old, and having to face the sort of pain he has been through - both physically and emotionally. Every boy I have ever known loves to run and play.and Osman is no different! You are my strength when I am weak. You are the treasure that I seek. You are my all in all. Jesus, Lamb of God, worthy is your name. I joined in w...
