The only function of the male bee is to fertilize the queen, and that is only done once. The rest of the year, the male bees don't do a thing but get fed by the worker bees. They don't even have a stinger, so they can't defend the hive either. But I guess they deserve it, since they didn't do much to prepare for the cold. That is me helping the bee...

The term refers both to the smaller size box and the colony of honeybees within it. The name is derived from the fact that a nuc hive is centered around a queen - the nucleus of the honey bee colony. I got a nuc! Hopefully the bees survived, living out of their cardboard box! Hopefully the queen isn't dead! Bees in the hive.

It is almost done, all I need is to paint the outside, which I plan on doing this week. My bees are coming May 8th. I'm getting excited! I ordered them a little late, but with the cool weather we're having now, I'm not regretting it at all. I ordered 4 lbs to make up for the late start. Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Unexpected Delightful Day with Daddy. This us just before lunch. We went to Wendy's as a special treat and then Wal-mart. Together we had a lot of fun. I was no match for the both of them. As they team up they take me down and pin me to the floor. N likes to wrestle with the big bear as we try to take it from each other. M just hops on and bounces up and down on me laughing as she causes me pain. During M's nap time, N and I spent a lot of time together, and we had a blast.

Saturday, November 16, 2013. We had some fun for our activity during Family Home evening this week. It was the most fun when we would mess up and have to do it again. My family is awesome and I am glad we are all willing to laugh at ourselves and be goofy. To me, that is what being a family is all about. I like M's face while she does it. Saturday, February 13, 2010. I can't believe I missed blogging of all the major holidays that I love! I mean, seriously, I LOVE Halloween, I decorate for Christmas as early as I can get away with it, Noah turned 5.and the list goes on. And what does my blog have to show for it? I could write down excuses, but, I know them,they make sense to me and it's just not my thing.And, I wouldn't be on here right now, but one, DUKE isn't playing, and two.I want to let my husband know how much I love him.

Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Look at our creation. We have been having problems with our basement flooding and it all came from the drain outside our basement door getting clogged during a really hard rain. So first my father and law and I built a tiny wall under the deck to stop gunk from flowing down the basement stairs from under the deck, but we were still getting stuff in the drain because it would fall from our tree.
