Rather than inundate Facebook (which blocks half of what I draw) or Deviant Art (which half of you can’t see because you need a login to view mature stuff), I thought I might try posting works in progress here. I usually only have a few hours here and there that I can squeeze into a piece, so this might be the easiest way to post. Ny of the background elements, but the basics are there. Unfortunately, I’m too late for her contest. Posted in Works in Progress. Comments are now disabled. Theme by Ben Tan.

Comments are now disabled. Unfortunately due to excessive spamming, we’ve had to turn off our commenting feature. We had put in all the usual safeguards, but spammers were still pounding our system to the point where our ISP was threatening to shut us down. We’re sorry for the inconvenience. — Ben. http://bentanart.blogspot.com/2013/05/warrior-woman.html
Put your pencil down! A peek at Bentan's works in progress. Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Here's yet another Trinquette Challenge piece. (http:/ www.facebook.com/trinquettebooks). The final piece (actually this isn't the version submitted):. This is the version I submitted. After submitting it I realized the colors on her face look really muddy, especially when compressed and reduced. And the cleaned up pencils. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. I draw pinups with spicy sauce.

Put your pencil down!: Yawn

Put your pencil down! A peek at Bentan's works in progress. Friday, February 7, 2014. This is the finished piece. I create a new layer, and change the color of the pen. Now working in the details. I decide I want a shirt on. Spend a little more time trying to get head and face in right. At this point I decide that I want her to yawn, so I also add her raised arm to help sell that. Notice how far everything has shifted from the blue. Shirt on a new layer. Hair on a new layer. Now I'm starting to evaluate ...

Put your pencil down!: Film Fun
http://bentanart.blogspot.com/2013/06/film-fun.html
Put your pencil down! A peek at Bentan's works in progress. Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Another Trinquette challenge piece. The initial sketch was pretty small. Around 2k on a side. I should consider doing this again because it worked pretty well. The nice thing about working lo-res is it forces you to worry about form, not line or detail. And then I did a quick color test to get a general sense of how I wanted to color. And this is a facebook-safe version. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Put your pencil down! A peek at Bentan's works in progress. Wednesday, February 12, 2014. New Olympic Event: Polar Bear Snow Shovelathon. Some variations. The last one is destined for a tattoo. Which is your favorite? Links to this post. Friday, February 7, 2014. This is the finished piece. Lately I like to start coloring with the background. It gives me some idea how to handle the skin. This is still in Painter, on a new layer. My standard coloring tool is the Tinting Basic Round. I like...Now I'm start...
