This is a very important week to us, as we had never heard of CHD until Bentlee. Unfortunate 1 in 100 children are born with a heart defect. Just another WordPress.com site. Day 2- Surgery and Medications. February 8, 2015. Bentlee had underdone 2 major open heart surgeries in her first 2 years of her life. Two years later Bentlee had just turned 2. She went in for an early FONTAN. She struggled a bit after that surgery with extra fluid on her lungs, but came out of hospital without oxygen and shortly after not needing a feeding tube. She is a true miracle. As well as major surgeries Bentlee has had. 5 heart catheterization,. 1 cardiac MRI,.

Bentlee was originally booked in for her cardiology appointment in August, but after a few months of some “new” symptoms she was bumped up a month. Bentlee has been doing amazing overall .
