Contact: 03 9564 7778. To meet the growing need to relieve financial & emotional distress for people affected by death, leaving them free to grieve. Bereavement Assistance Ltd enables dignity in death. We are a community service organisation that provides quality funerals for Victorians who can’t afford a commercial service. We provide the actual funeral service: cremation or burial, including chapel or church service with an experienced funeral celebrant if required.

Contact: 03 9564 7778. Bereavement Assistance is a community service organisation founded in 1997 by Ted Worthington and Bernard Morey. Ted was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day Honours, 2011, for his work in the community, particularly with Bereavement Assistance. Ted is now semi-retired but his vision is carried on by a board of management and a team of eleven dedicated employees. During 2014-2015 we are undertaking a corporate governance review under professional guidance.

We assist in placing a funeral bond with Funeralplan Management. It can be a lump-sum payment or installments. See the Funeralplan Management website. We do not receive commission from Funeralplan Management for arranging this. If you put a pre-paid funeral in place it is important to let your next-of-kin or close family members know about it.
