Welcome to Jena, Louisiana in 2006-07 where a group of black students were told by the school administration to sit wherever they liked on campus, and when racial tensions exploded, were not there to support the black students. My mind flashes back in history to water fountains, stores, busses, housing, sanctified lynchings, and of course my experiences at school. Fun and Brain Candy.

Never mind i found it. Thursday, December 21, 2006. The Mandarin Duck In Our Local Spring Lake Park. The Mandarin lives in the forests of China and Japan. They prefer wooded ponds and fast flowing rocky streams to swim, wade, and feed in. In the Far East, Mandarins are migratory. Some of the ducks in England also make long-distance flights. Most ducks in the British population, however, are sedentary. These birds have been known to cover 500 miles in 24 hours. What a totally beautiful bird!

Never mind i found it. Friday, July 07, 2006. So the move was greatly satisfying. All of the stuff from my storage unit was successfully moved from Ukiah to Santa Rosa in 2 cars, 2 trucks, and a Volkswagen bus. The coolest thing about the move is that the energy was so positive and encouraging that it felt more like a fun day of hanging out with friends than it did the extra stressful ordeal of moving.
