Bert News: April 2009
http://bertnews.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Family news to peruse. Monday, April 6, 2009. Yesterday was a long, lazy day and it was great! We had no church meetings to attend as it was our churches annual General Conference which can be seen on cable and satellite channels. Pat made cinnamon rolls and Scott and Sarah came over (twice! And also Carlie, Trevor and baby Ellena. We laid around and nibbled on stuff all day while we watched conference, movies and played the Wii. I never even took a shower, just laid around in sweats. The food was of course wonderful particularly bacon-wrapped shrimp! We arrived back at the Boulders at about 10:30PM and I said a hasty goodbye to Tony as I had to drive back to Tucson but I had a marvelous time! Posted by Pat and Dave. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Bert News: September 2009
http://bertnews.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Family news to peruse. Wednesday, September 2, 2009. Here is the best way I can describe the feeling I had yesterday as my workday was ending. Do you remember when you were a teenager and were out way after curfew? I got home, looked at the box, puttered around the house, looked at the box, played with Ellena, looked at the box, got something to eat, looked at the box. You get the idea. So finally I put it in the back of the pickup and drove it to the UPS store. Posted by Pat and Dave.

Family news to peruse. Saturday, June 27, 2009. She wanted a Popsicle from our freezer. I was amazed at how she persisted to make me understand by expanding her pronunciation of the word to including specific location. You can't tell me this girl is not very bright! Posted by Pat and Dave. Wednesday, June 17, 2009. I was surprised. Mine was stolen in February when we were burglarized. So I took it to Illinois and Jon helped me download a bunch of songs (now I have nearly 800). Rachel and I pu...These are...

A Stone's Throw: November 2009
http://a-stones-throw.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 28, 2009. The official "Jon is awesome" post. Appreciate it. It keeps me from being one of those people who only listens to their favorite albums from high school for the rest of their lives. And just to show you how lame I am, just calling his new music taste "western-type" I'm sure is totally wrong, maybe it's "alt-country"? We're not talking about Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban here- think more Avett Brothers and Wilco. Http:/ www.onlyanything.com/. Please help me feel better by show...

Tuesday, September 29, 2009. The sewing bug has bit. I've been frequenting my fabric stores lately (there are only 2 in my town) scouring the remnant bins mostly and coming away with bits and pieces that I love. (The blue and yellow floral prints on the bottom row actually came from a thrift store.). This picture doesn't even include the 7 yards of HB fabric. I bought to make a quilt for Maryn's bed. I need to get that stuff. Out and photograph it, talk about pretty. Later, I promise. I also wanted to sh...

Saturday, April 25, 2009. Or "the saga of the red couch". The other issue that has been taking up so much of my time lately is- I'm in the process of trying to redecorate our living room. After many many many trips to the few furniture stores in our area, we have a new couch! The following is a picture of Seth reading The Cat in the Hat to Maryn and Jonas.). After almost three weeks, we have a happy ending- I am really loving the couch! Post title credit goes to DB. Thursday, April 23, 2009. We've been h...

Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Book club at the library last night. Guest moderator walks in late: "Wow, this. A big group, more than I expected.". Nervous laughter from the twelve of us group members. There were actually more people there than usual. I think it's because the book is kind of different and pretty popular. No introduction. Who is this guy anyway? So what do you guys usually do at these things? I have really never been in a more awkward and socially painful group situation. Anyway- so someti...
A Stone's Throw: Halloween 2009
http://a-stones-throw.blogspot.com/2010/11/halloween-2009.html
Wednesday, November 3, 2010. Before I posted pics of Halloween last weekend, I decided to share some pics of last year when I actually made all of my kids' costumes for the first time ever. Meaning I actually sewed everything you see here (except for the fairy wings and almost everything Jonas is wearing- except for the mask and R badge- which I did make.so I guess not everything. But in reality, who knows what the heck I was thinking. It was a year ago! The Marvelous Mrs. M. November 3, 2010 at 2:57 PM.
A Stone's Throw: they don't know what's coming...
http://a-stones-throw.blogspot.com/2010/11/every-year-during-parent-teacher.html
Friday, November 5, 2010. They don't know what's coming. Every year during parent-teacher conferences, I try really hard to keep my face blank as my childrens' teachers gush over how well-behaved my kids are in class and if they could just have a classroom full of my kids, their teaching life would be easier. I'm not kidding, this is exactly what I hear every time. Is this what other parents hear too, is this what the teachers say to everyone? Why don't they live in my house? November 5, 2010 at 12:51 PM.

Monday, June 29, 2009. Seth finished Kindergarten on June 3 (after having to make up 3 snow days). Last day of Kindergarten. First Day of Kindergarten, August 2008. Seth had a great school year and truly loved everything about it! His best friend, Brennan was in his class all year. And since there are only two classes per grade in their school, they have a 50/50 chance of repeating the fun! He is a good boy and we love him so much! Saturday, June 27, 2009. My two little boys. Could not be more different.

Build Great Control Panels for Raspberry Pi/Arduinos. I am having great fun with the app, got it talking to my PI via a router and controlling my Gertboard. I go into secondary schools and give talks on computers, mathematics etc and plan to demonstrate the iPad talking to the Pi. This is a great program. I’ve done four projects with it and am now working on the fifth. Great Support.”. Ldquo;PS: just wanted to add many kudo's for your development team! I love this Program! New Version (2.67809154.

Family news to peruse. Saturday, December 22, 2012. Bertnews Christmas letter 2012. The Bertoglio "Year of the Babies"! This has been a joyous year for us! First was the February birth of Tina and Jon's 4th child and our 6th grandchild, Asher James Stone. Pat already had plane tickets in hand when he arrived and flew out to Champaign to be Grandma. She and I then made another trip to Illinois in the summer for my turn to visit Asher and his beautiful brothers and sister. What a fun time! A Guest of Disney.
