Best Cooks East of the Mississippi. Monday, July 25, 2011. 7 c uncooked oats. 1 c wheat germ. 1 c shredded coconut. 1/2 c brown sugar. 1 T vanilla extract. 1 c slivered almonds. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and bake in a shallow pan at 275 degrees for approximately one hour, or until coconut is slightly browned. Cool. Store in refrigerator. makes 18-20 servings.
